+Lucas' POV+

Beep... beep... beep...

The stupid noise fills the room. Did my mom change the alarm again? I try to move my left arm to shut it off but I'm stopped by what feels like a wire, a needle going into my arm.

What the hell?

I move around in my bed. No, this isn't my bed. I rest my hands on the sheets. Definitely not my bed.

I try to open my eyes but they begin to burn from the blinding light and water from the pain. I attempt to at least see where I am but I'm hit with a burn in my eyes again.

I try again and my eyes start to adapt to the light but my vision is still blurry as fuck. I blink a few types and my eyes start to adjust.

The beeping continues and I look to my left to see a heart monitor.

Why am I in a hospital?

A doctor walks in with a smile on his face.

"Hey, kid. How are you doing?" he asks me.

I look around the room, expecting someone to answer but of course, we're the only ones in the room.

"Um, I'm okay I guess."

"Do you know where you are?" he asks as he writes down something on his clipboard.

"A hospital," I answer.

"And do you know why you're here?" the doctor questions.

I shake my head and he frowns.

"Do you remember you're name?" He continues to write on his clipboard while looking at me inquisitively.

"Lucas. Lucas Carter," I tell him.

"Lucas, I want you to tell me the last thing you remember."

I close my eyes and scrunch my eyebrows in frustration, trying to remember. I flash of pain hits my forehead. I can already feel the raging headache coming on.

"Stop," the doctor instructs. "Try not to think too much right now and let this all sink in. You suffered from a concusion and..."

He didn't get to finish as my mom and dad walk through the door. My mothers in tears and rushes towards me when she sees me.he embraces me in hug and runs her fingers through my hair.

"We're so glad you're okay. When Kaylee told us you were waking up, we rushed up here as soon as possible," she sobs. Or at least that's what I think she says. I probably hear wrong.

"Wait, what happened?" I ask more confused then ever.

"You were unconscious for a week and a few days. We thought you were going into a coma, Lucas." My mom says, tears brimming her eyes.

I lay back down trying to remember what last happened.

"We took you out of school. They said you're given an extra week after you wake up to return back," my dad informs me.

Seriously, what the hell is going on?

"Dad. The school year hasn't even started yet. That's next week," I tell him, remembering buying school supplies the night before. My memory is slowly coming back to me.

The doctor gives me a questioning look then at my parents. My mom begins to cry again, even harder than before. I understand that she was worried but I'm fine now...

"School hasn't started, right?" I repeat wanting confirmation.

"Mr. and Mrs. Carter, I need to speak to you... outside," he adds glancing my way.

Out of nowhere, a brown-haired girl about my age comes running into the room. I can't help but stare at the pretty girl. Her gaze is locked on mine and a smile spreads on her face. Unexpectedly she runs up to me and gives me a squeezing hug.

"Lucas, I can't believe you're awake. You scared the shit out of me," she whispers pulling back from the hug. "I'm so so sorry. I missed you so much."

She's looking at me as if waiting for me to say something. I look to my parents, then to the doctor, and back to her. I don't know what to say, so I ask the one thing that's been bugging me.

"I'm sorry, but who are you?"

I wanna start a new book from scratch so this might be ending soon or going on hold.

I'm sorry for that ending, yell at me all you want it's not gonna change anything.
