The next day when I woke up Adam was gone. I turned to get my phone and noticed a text message from Adam.
Had to leave early and meet the guys at the studio. Be back by 10:00
I stood up and went to take a shower. Afterwards I got ready to meet Rebeca at the mall. As I got ready, I couldn't help but feel sorry for myself. I never saw Adam. He would always leave early in the morning and come back late at night. I know it's his job, but sometimes I think he's doing something else.
One time when he got back from the studio late at night he had lipstick on his cheek. He said I was James' girlfriend's lipstick. That she went to go say hi to everybody during a recording session. I wanted to believe him, but I just couldn't. It took 2 months to get over that lipstick.
Once I was ready I got in my car and went to meet Rebeca at the mall, but while I was on my way out, James drove in. I stopped and got out to ask him why he wasn't in the recording studio. Instead he asked, "hey Vicky, is Adam here?" I shook my head, "no, he said he was going to be in the recording studio with you all day."
James raised his eyebrow in confusion, "but we don't even go to the studio on Sundays." In my head I was mentally murdering Adam. But on the outside I had to keep calm and find out where he was. "Oh, then I guess he went to his mom's or something." James nodded, "ok, thanks. I'll see you later." I waved as James got in his car and left the mansion-like home.
As soon as James left I called Rebeca. I needed to tell her to come over, or maybe she knew where Adam was.
Vicky: Rebeca come over right now!
Rebeca: why? What happened?
Vicky: just come over, I'll explain as soon as you get here.
Rebeca: ok, I'm leaving right now.
Vicky: ok, bye.
I put my phone back in my pocket and waited for Rebeca to arrive. Every second that went by was killing me. Not knowing where Adam was meant he could be doing whatever he wanted. A question suddenly popped into my head. what if he's with somebody else? If he was seeing somebody else I was going to leave him for sure. I wasn't going to give him a second chance. I'll just pack my things and leave, no problems.
Just then Rebeca arrived. She walked in and sat next to me before asking, "what's up?" I turned around to face her, "Adam's not in the studio. He said he was going to be there, but James came over and said he wasn't there." Rebeca thought for a minute, "maybe he's in a different studio?" I shook my head, "Maroon5 has always used the same studio, and James said that they've never gone to the studio on Sundays. Adam has been going to the "studio" everyday." Rebeca didn't know what to say next, she didn't know what to think. "Where do you think he is?" She asked. I shrugged, "I don't know, but we have to find him." Rebeca asked, "how are we gonna do that?" I shrugged again. I actually had no idea how we were going to find him.
"Wait I have an idea. Give me your phone!" She demanded. I handed Rebeca my phone and looked over her shoulder to see what she was doing. "Just check to see where his phone is. You go into the account his phone is under and...there! He's at 3660 Hollywood Hills." I raised my eyebrow. That place sounded familiar. Had I been there before? Then I said, "that's just up the road, what is he doing there?" Rebeca shrugged, "I don't know." I put my phone in my pocket and got my car keys. "Let's go find out."
Rebeca and I got in my car and drove to 3660 Hollywood Hills. It was a big pastel pink house. I suddenly remembered that my best friend Anne just moved here.
We got out of the car and headed inside. I was about to knock, but Rebeca stopped me, "no! If he knows it's you he'll come up with an excuse." I nodded, "then how do we get in?" Rebeca just gave me a look, "don't act like you've never broken into a house before..." I laughed and got out my credit card.
Once the door was open we quietly walked inside. It was completely quiet. "Maybe they're not home and we're wrong..." I tried to make myself believe what I had just said, but then we heard something coming from upstairs. We quietly made our way upstairs and stopped when we got to a bedroom. The door was locked. Rebeca put her eat close to the door then quickly stepped back. "What is it?" I asked. "I think we should leave..." Rebeca said as she began to push me back downstairs. what was she talking about? I put my ear close to the door.
"Oh my god! Adam! Go faster! Push it in! Ah!"
I stepped back and didn't know what to do. I ran downstairs with Rebeca behind me. Then I ran into the car and began to cry. Rebeca, who was locked out of the car motioned for me to unlock it. Afterwards She sat down and said, "Vicky I know this is hard, but..." I was mad, I just found out that my boyfriend was cheating on me with one of my best friends. I wasn't going to give Adam another chance and Rebeca couldn't convince me to, I shouted, "But what?! Rebeca you heard what he was doing in there! That's one of my best friends! He screwed up bad this time! I'm going home to pack my things and I'm leaving him."
I started up the car and drove back to Adam's house. Rebeca didn't say another word because she knew I was right. When we arrived to Adam's house I packed my clothe and anything else I had. Then I put it in the trunk of my car and waited for Adam to get back home.
"Why can't you just leave?" Rebeca asked, "then there won't be any problems." I shook my head, "no. I need to confront him about this. If he wants to cheat, He's gonna have to deal with me." Rebeca nodded, "ok, then I'll wait here with you."
Rebeca was my best friend. Unlike Anne, Rebeca was always there for me. I could trust Rebeca. We both waited for Adam to arrive at 10:00.
"I gotta get going Anne, it's getting late."
"Can't you just stay a while longer baby?"
"No, I have to go. It's already 10:00. But I'll be back tomorrow. Ok?"
"Bye" I put my shirt on then got in my car. Now to go home for round 2.
"That's his car pulling up. You better go." I said as i looked through the window. Rebeca nodded, "ok, if you need me, just call." "Thanks." I said. Rebeca went out the back door as Adam walked in. "Hey baby." He walked over and tried to kiss my forehead, but failed when I pushed him away. "What was that for?" Adam asked, as if he didn't know what was going on. "Adam, you've been cheating on me!" I stood up and stared at Adam. "What? No I haven't!" Adam seemed defensive, but I knew he was lying. It made me mad that he tried to keep lying even when he knew I knew the truth. "Adam don't act stupid I know the truth. I'm leaving you. We're through." Adam's eyes grew wide, "no wait, we can work this out!" I took my jacket before saying, "no! This is the 2nd time Adam! Well that I know of, maybe there's more." Adam said, "that's not the-" I stopped him, "how many were there Adam? Just tell me." Adam looked down at the ground, "4..." I rolled my eyes trying to fight back the tears, "I'm leaving. Don't call me, or text me. Just leave me alone." I walked out and got in my car. "Vicky wait! I can explain." I completely ignored Adam and drove to Rebeca's house.
When I arrived I told Rebeca everything. She knew I was hurt and decided to leave the topic and let me get some rest.
