The first day in the compound Four was nice and caring. Now, not so much. I don't know what stunt he's trying to pull here but it's getting on my nerves. He is so much like my father was, but he is so different.

"Rikki!" Blaine pulls me from my thoughts.

"What?" I reply.

"Ugh!" he sighs, "Did you not hear what I just said?"

"Apparently not."

"Well," he runs a hand through his hair, "I was wondering if you wanted to go do something."

"Like what?"

"I don't know."

"Um," I say, "Do you want to go shopping?"

"Why not," he sighs.

We walk to the clothing shop and wander around. Blaine sees something that catches his eye and he walks over to it. I don't  follow him, instead I watch him. He happily picks up something small and goes to the register. I still can't tell what he bought, but I'm curious on what it might be.

I go over to the makeup section to make it look like I wasn't staring at him. Blaine walks over to me and hands me a black bag.

"What am I supposed to do with this?" I ask.

"Its for you," he gestures to the bag.

Together we leave the store and we walk to the Chasm.

"Open it," Blaine says as he dangles his feet over the edge.

I lean against the rocks and open the petite bag. Inside there is a black box. I gasp.

"What is this?" I ask, surprised.

"Just open it!"

"Okay, Okay!" I say, "Pushy much?"

I open the box and inside there is a Dauntless bracelet. On a black string there is an obsidian flame. I slide it onto my wrist. The flame is not only black, it holds color in the darkness. Blaine is looking at me, I can feel him smiling.

"Thank you," I bid gratefully.

Blaine just nods in response. I feel my cheeks warm slightly.

"Your blushing," he laughs.

I bury my head in the sleeve of my leather jacket. 'Gosh, this is so embarrassing!'

"Don't hide you beautiful face!" says Blaine, lifting my head.

"Ugh."

I'm not pretty, let alone beautiful. My hair is too sun-kissed, just like my skin. A small dusting of freckles is splattered across my face, like an artist made a mistake while painting them. I'm too tall but I'm too short. I'm nothing special, I am just me.

"I'm not beautiful!" I yelp.

"Um, yeah. Rikki, you are beautiful."

"No, Blaine, no. I know I am not beautiful."

"Whatever you say," he gives up, "I got to go help T.J."

"Okay," I stand, "Thank you, so much for the bracelet!"

"No problem," Blaine bids as he walks away.

I rub the smooth flame between my finger and walk to the dormitory. Hopefully Andrew won't be there.

When I reach the dormitory I push open the door to see Andrew pushing around Caydon.

"What are you doing?!" I scream.
