Chapter 17

I stared at him, wondering what in the world he would ask me? I mean... hopefully, it wouldn't be anything too personal. But then again, any question he asked could be considered personal. Even though we had known each other since we were kids. I really didn't know anything about him. And he definitely didn't know a thing about me. He frowned shaking his head as if changing his mind about something. Then he looked at me for another minute before he smiled. I could literally see the lightbulb go off in his head.

"What is your most embarrassing moment in life?" he asked with a smirk, looking pleased and smug with himself.

OH GOD, OH ALLAH. My breath caught in my throat. Oh, how I wanted the floor to open up and suck me in? Couldn't he have asked me anything else? I mean why not the usual questions people ask to get to know one another. Like my favorite color, animal, food...anything would have been fine. Embarrassing moments were not spoken of at all. I mean that was a silent rule...right? I looked at him pleadingly, wishing for him to change his mind.

"And... might I add that you can't lie...or make up a random story. The truth is all you can speak," he smiled leaning against the door frame.

"This is because of the slap isn't it, "I huffed throwing my hands in the air.

I was mad that he had seemed to guess my mind so easily. How could he have known that I was going to make something up?

I looked at Olive who had finished the tuna. I notice that his fur was sticky and dirty from the milk pouring on him. I smiled seeing an escape from this dreadful situation.

"Oh my, would you look at that, poor Olive is all dirty, let me go clean him up,"I said hurriedly scooping up Olive and dashing out of the kitchen.

"You can run..." He said as I walked by him making me pause in my tracks. I looked at him waiting for him to continue.

"But... if you take too long to answer. Or, if I have to hunt you down to get my answer. Not only will I get to ask another question, but you'll be punished," he said crossing his arms and smiling down at me.

"Punished? what do you mean punished?" I asked uncertainly.

"What? You expect me to tell?" he asked in mock horror dramatically grabbing his chest.

"Have I mentioned that I don't like the new you at all," I huffed brushing past him.

"You might have," he smirked.

I angrily turned away from him, thinking of ways to get back at him. A slap was out of the question. His laughter rang behind me as I walked away. Maybe not, maybe a slap was just what he needed. Stupid man, when did he become the prince of annoyance instead of the prince of ice? I .

I went up the set of stairs I came down from this morning. I muttered angrily to myself having a hard time finding my room. After what seemed like twenty minutes I found it.

I walked quickly to the bathroom running a bit of water. I started to wash Olive he kept fighting, wanting to get away. As I dried him off,  I thought a bit about Yunus's question. There was no way I could share it with him. It would be way too awkward, I don't think we could ever look each other in the face.

No, I'll take whatever punishment he comes up with. There is no way in hell I was going to share that incident. Then again what if he makes me do something horrible? Or maybe he will take Olive from me. I shook my head, he wasn't that much f a brute. God, this was too much for my poor head. Either way, I was either going to embarrass myself to a point of no return or...
