Fallon ~

Hands shook me awake and I mumbled a string of curses.

"Fallon, for fucks sake wake up!" I opened my eyes to find Danie's eyes staring back at me.

"What do you want?" I asked. "It's 10 in the evening, I'm sleeping."

"Yeah but a bunch of us are going down to the halls on the west end. Wanna come?" She asked.

"Why would you want me to come anywhere with you?" I mumbled shutting my eyes again.

"Because, I was asked to invite you okay?" She said irritably. "Now get dressed, quickly. We're late."

I rolled out of bed and started dressing. Danie wasn't paying me attention applying another coat of makeup to her round but pretty face. She and all the other girls ruined their faces this way.

She spun round and glared. "Don't you have any dresses to wear?" She muttered.

"No, and I wouldn't want too." I said. "I don't even know why I'm coming."

I followed her down the corridor. She was walking as fast as the heels she was wearing, let her. She was trying to move quietly but her heels clicked across the floor nevertheless. The dress she was wearing limited her movements by a mile.

My sneakers allowed me to move swiftly and quietly and my jeans let me run fairly quickly.

"Won't we be caught?" I asked. "I mean we are going to the hall."

"Yeah, but these are the halls on the west end. We don't use that much except for dances or basketball games. And it's not basketball season yet so they're free and nobody's training." She spoke with confidence of not being caught.

"But teachers?" I asked.

"Eh don't mind them. We haven't been caught drinking or smoking in years. People do what we're doing all the time, we're absolutely fine."

By the time we walked there everyone was already drunk and failing to stand up. People were making out in corners while the others danced about in the middle of the gym hall.

Music played though softly and there couldn't have been more than 20 of us in there altogether.

I rolled my eyes and turned to leave as girls in the corner started to get undressed. Danie caught my arm and pulled me back.

"I'm not staying here Danie." I snapped. "I actually have no idea why I decided to come in the first place."

I left the hall much to Danie's cursing and ran past down the corridors. The door to the basement opened and up the stairs came the sound of laughter and Jesse appeared with Troye, James and Aleks in tow.

"Fallon?" Aleks said frowning. "I didn't know you were the type to... You know do those things."

"Well I'm not." I snapped. "Does everyone know what goes on? Everyone except the teachers?"

"Yeah pretty much." Jesse laughed.

"What are you guys doing in the basement?" I asked.

"Gay sex." Troye laughed.

"Video games." James muttered shoving a laughing Troye.

"Well the three of us do. Jesse is crap at it so he reads my books in the corner." Aleks laughed.

"Aleks walk her to her dorm." Jesse said. "I'm gonna head back to our dorm."

"Yeah we'll follow you." James said shoving Troye again.

"Uh I'm okay." I said laughing. "I can walk myself. That is unless you fear that a serial killer roams these halls at night."

"Don't worry it's kinda weird if I do send you to your dorm alone." Aleks said.

"I'm okay really." I laughed.

"Wow you're the first girl to turn down Aleks' charm." James laughed.

"Shut up." Aleks smirked.

I walked back to my own dorm, Aleks with me. His friends had forced him to and I couldn't possibly lie to myself by saying I didn't like it.

I stopped by my dorm room, I had been listening to him explain the plotline of a game to me as we walked.

"Ay, don't tell me the spoilers!" I laughed. "Maybe I have a desire to play this so called game."

Aleks laughed and smiled putting his hands in his pockets.

"You know why they sent me with you don't you?" Aleks' smile started to fade a little.

"Of course I do Aleks." I sighed and looked at my shoes. "It's obvious to me that they assume I like you back?"

"Yeah," he nodded. "I'm sorry."

"Don't be," I replied. "But I'm not... I can't..." I sighed and put my hands in my pockets.

"You do realise I haven't asked you anything?" He laughed.

"Yeah, uh-"

"No, I'm not going to ask you out or anything. I don't want to do any of that...not now." He said.

"Aleks I didn't mean to-" I began.

"You did nothing," he laughed and took my hand in his warm one. "Someday I want you to come and join me for video games in our basement."

"It's now your basement?" I laughed.

"Well nobody goes in there but us four. We basically live in that thing." He laughed then realising he was still holding my hand let go quickly.

"Thanks for, uh walking me back to my dorm." I said.

"Yeah no problem." He said. "See you around."

"Yeah," I nodded and slipped into my dorm room shutting it behind me. I climbed onto my bed and pulled the beats over my ears and tried my best to drown out the world around me.

Danie came in a few hours later, drunk and with her dress falling off her shoulders. I kept the beats on and stayed on my bed, just watching her.

She collapsed onto her bed and feel into a deep sleep. I sighed left her, my laptop the only source of light in the dark dorm.
