Kade's P.O.V. 17

I had my earphones plugged in while I typed away on my keyboards at work and filed paperwork every now and then. Today has been easy, but nonetheless a busy day. I loved days like these where I kept myself busy and time was flying by. Ace and Mason have been all day in meetings coming in and out. Ace right now was in his last meeting of the day and I knew he had to be hungry and tired. I've been inside some of the meetings he attends and they drain both the energy and food out of my system.

"What are you still doing here?" I hear once my earphone is yanked out.

"What the hell, Ace" I ask once I pause my music.

"I've been calling you for the past few minutes."

"You look like shit. And I was waiting for you to finish with your meeting and finishing some work for tomorrow. Are you done?"

"Thanks, and why were you waiting for me? And well, duh. I've been done." He walks closer and sits on the corner of my desk.

"What are you going to do now?" I ask closing off everything I was working on and turning off the computer. I pile the work for tomorrow and lock it in my cabinets and then look up at Ace who's looking down at me.

"What do you want to do?"

"I'm hungry if that helps."

"Great, because I'm starving. Want to get chicken and waffles?"

"Tacos? Great." I say making him laugh.

"You've eaten that for the past 2 days."

"What can I say? I love them."

"Of course you do. Come on now."

"Eager?"

"Hungry" I laugh at him as we make our way to the elevator.

"How was your day?"

"Good, better now that I get to spend my afternoon with you, again." I look at him and back to the front of the elevator; we were standing side-by-side, shoulders touching.

"I guess it hasn't been so bad spending alone time with you." I say with a shrug.

"You love spending alone time with me"

Yes, I do!

"Not really." He laughs and walks out the elevator as soon as it opens.

"Whatever helps you sleep at night, Kade" he grins as he walks backward.

"Oh, I do sleep pretty great at night."

"Of course you do. You've been sleeping next to me for the past few days." I blush and walk faster to Ace's car leaving him alone behind me laughing. It's true.

Since the talk on Saturday with Adriana, I've let myself be a little more open with Ace. We slept on Saturday at my place and then on Sunday in his house. This has been happening for 4 days now. Tonight we're supposed to stay at my place.

When I hear Ace's car unlock I get in and avoid his stare.

"I'm kidding" he says closing his door and turning to face me.

"Yeah, whatever." I say. He turns his car on and puts in drive before intertwining our fingers. I relax to his touch and smile. I haven't felt this comfortable and happy with someone in a really long time.

"Why are you smiling like that? It looks creepy. Are you planning my death up in there?" I laugh and shake my head.

"No, Ace. Sorry to disappoint but I'm not a murderer."

"Then why are you smiling like that?"

"I'm finally happy with my life."

"I'm glad. I hope I have something to do with that smile" I look at him and smile. Yes, you have a lot to do with it Ace. Should I lie and say he doesn't? Or should I say the truth?
