{Scarlett's POV}

I walked quickly looking around. Ducking behind boxes of random things I waited patiently. Growls, gunshots, screams, and so much more were heard.

We were at the front Christian was visiting.

This was just the start of a war and it was horrid. I can't imagine what the actual battle will look like.

"Are you sure this is a good idea?" Alara mumbled next to me.

"Im not going to let all these people die from this gas." I mumbled.

"And I'm not going to let you die trying to save these pathetic men." She snapped looking around worriedly.

"If you really want to help me, help me save them. To save Christian, please." She looked at me curiously.

"Why?" She said clearly confused as to why I wanted to help them.

"They all aren't bad you know. Christian did what was best for his people, and I know why you hate him. He took Evan from you. I would hate anyone who took Christian from me, so please don't let these hunters take him. Take... the father of my child away." I said and her eyes widened darting to my stomach.

"Holy shit." She mumbled and raised her hands quickly and I saw her eyes glow.

"What did you just do?" I mumbled.

"I put a protection spell on your baby. You're risking everything coming here. We are leaving." She said and I rolled my eyes.

"Well, I'm not leaving," I said and stood up.

"Scarlett! Christian and I made a de-" She tried to speak but I didn't listen as I entered the field.

Moving around frantically, I looked for my mate. He wasn't in sight and my heart clenched.

"Scarlett! Wait!" Alara yelled and I watched her as she jumped up quickly and held her hands up making a fist.

I stood wide-eyed as I stared at the bullet that was frozen in front of me. She twisted her hand and I watched the bullets turn as she raised her hand back and made a throwing motion. The bullets flew through the air and straight into the man's head that shot the bullet.

"You're going to get us both killed." She said grabbing my arm.

Then that's when I saw it: A purple cloud exploded.

"Alara, please!" I screamed at her.

She took a deep breath and closed her eyes chanting something as she lifted her hands and I watched as the smoke started to lift and raise into the air.

I then noticed a drop of blood trail down from her nose.

"I- I can't get it all." She mumbled looking around.

"Yes, you can. If there's one thing I learned about you Alara it's that you don't give up. You are powerful. Use it." I said and she sighed.

A yell ripped through her throat as she raised the smoke more and in a sharp motion, it looked as if she threw it high up and it vanished.

"There's a witch!" I heard someone yell.

"Shit." She mumbled. "Scarlett, this is not a witch's battle! You are dragging me into something that the witches will despise me for...We have to go. This is not our fight." She countered.

"You forgot I'm a werewolf and the queen of these soldiers. It is my fight." I mumbled and in a sharp motion, I let my wolf take control as I charged onto the field.
