"Baby. Wake up. Come on we have to get the kids to school."
I hummed and blinked open my eyes. I saw Seth smiling down at me on our bed.
"You gotta help me up, I'm pregnant remember."
He shook his head lightly and scooped me off the bed in his arms. He started carrying me towards the bathroom and I rolled my eyes.
"Just because your 4 months pregnant doesn't mean I have to help you with everything."
"I didn't ask you to carry me to the bathroom. Just to help me out of bed."
I leaned my head on his shoulder as he placed me on my feet, placing his hands on my waist. I looked up at him and pecked him on the lips as our oldest son who was 9 ran into the room, followed by his 6 year old sister.
"Mommy! She bit me!"
"I did not!!!"
I laughed and shook my head.
"You guys, what did I tell you about yelling to complain? Especially around this time for your mother?"
They apoligized in unision and turned to leave.
"Hey you two. Come here,"
I kneeled down carefully and took one of their hands each.
"Listen you guys. I'll always be here. Now. Where did she bite you?"
He lifted his arm and pointed to his elbow. There was a red ring shaped mark. I looked over to my daughter.
"I thought you said you didn't bite him. I know for a fact that no one can bite their own elbow. Why did you lie to me sweetie?"
Tears welled up in her eyes and her bottom lip wobbled. I sat on the ground and pulled them both on my lap. My slightly large belly in between them. I hugged her tighter to me as Seth sat across from us.
"I- I didn't want t-to get in t-trouble. I-I thought-"
"Sweetheart. No. Okay. Maybe a little. But usually you'd get in worse trouble for lying. Your not this time because you did tell me the truth and I'm just to lazy. But no more lying okay?"
She nodded and smiled, wiping the tears from her face. I hugged them both tigher to me and let them go.
"Go play with you little sister you two. We have school in a half an hour."
They giggled and ran out of the room. Seth looked over at me and shook his head.
"I love our family."
My eyes fluttered open and I immedeatly tensed. My head was resting on Seth's chest and his arm was around my shoulders. I kept breathing normally as he brushed his thumb over my arm, which was over his body. I sat up quickly and pushed his arms off of me. I tucked my hands in my armpits and pulled my knees up to my chest.
"Hey are you okay Iva? You were fine a minute ago."
I ignored him and sat on my bed. Staring at the end of it. What was that? My future? I didn't plan on getting that far with anyone let alone Seth. It felt too real. Four kids? With him? He started rubbing my back and placed a hand on my knee.
"Iva? Was it a nightmare?"
I briefly shook my head and he pulled me back down to lay with him on the bed. He brushed bis thumb over my arm in a way that would usually be soothing but I was too freaked out to be calm.
"Come on, tell me about it."
I took a deep breath and slightly relaxed.
"It was- nevermind. I don't want to talk about it. At least, not with you. I'm going to school today. Its almost time for me to get to my bus stop."
I looked at the clock and then looked at my hands.
"Hey do I still have my uh-?"
I waved my hand slightly and he nodded, looking confused. I snapped my fingers to change my clothes and pulled a brush through my hair.
"Why wouldn't you?"
"Uh maybe, ow, because I might try and use them to... you know."
"Kill yourself? I figure that you don't need another life lesson on that. You didn't try and OD on Advil. I trust you, I guess."
"Okay, whatever. Did you by any chance do my homework?"
He nodded and handed it to me, I looked at it and saw he did the day that I missed too. I looked up at him and shrugged. I threw on my shoes and started running out the door. Yelling to whoever was awake,
"Okay gotta go! Bye!"
