The Wrong Date

3/ a Justin or a Clay?

I was in my bed doing nothing more than dreaming about Lucas, it's just crazy how the smallest things can warm up my heart like that.
Well to be honest he's not a small thing, he's like 6'3 tall and very very muscular, but still.
A few seconds and Topanga opens my room's door.
"Hey honey get ready for school" she nicely said and then quickly closed the door, I take the sheets off of my face and still see her in my room. I jump as I got scared, I thought she left already.
"Topy you scared me !" I whisper/yell in frustration.
She laughed at me "sorry honey but I felt like we need to talk" she sat on the edge of my bed, sit up as well.
"What do you want to talk about ?" I yawned and stretched my arms.
"That guy who walked you back home last time instead of Farkle" she was blank.
I became blank too. I didn't know she saw him.
"W-what are you talking about ?" I stutter, it's really hard to lie to the person you probably trust the most.
"Auggie told me that it wasn't Farkle for sure" she crossed her arms up to her chest.
"Oh okay let me explain.." I searched my words inside my mind.
"Are you cheating on Farkle or going out with another guy that I don't know ?" She sternly asked me.
"What ? No no no ! Farkle actually never showed up to that date so this random guy came at my table to make things less awkward and he's really nice... he played my date all along and walked me home.." I quickly said
"You know that it was extremely dangerous and stupid from you ?
He could've kidnap you and rape you or worse ! Look it's not because you're a beautiful girl that every cute guy is here to be all nice with you forever, safety first Maya !" She told me, I nodded. Sure it was dangerous but if only she knew him, she would've known this guy is way far from being danger.
"I know but... he's like about my age.. and he was extremely nice and cute, look mom he's the kind of guy I would show you the second I'd think it's serious" I seriously told him, making every chance on my side.
"How old is he ?" She asked me.
"He's at college..." I shyly say.
"A college boy ?! Maya ?! Do you remember what a college boy can do ? Josh is a college boy. You don't want it to happen like that with this new boy for sure" she rolled her eyes at me.
"But he's not a Josh ! He's WAY not a Josh!" I whisper yell again, this argument is really bothering me.
"How can you know ? Josh was nice as well at the very beginning! Remember how happy you were after your first date with Josh ?"
"It wasn't a date ! It was a wrong date ! That's the difference right there ! He came up to me by pure kindness. Josh would never do that" I said then got up off my bed.
"I need to get ready" I said, she nodded and left my room. I quickly ran to the door "I'm sorry I love you, but please don't tell anybody" I asked her, she nodded with a smile on and I got ready to go to school.

I was with my friend Zay, we were sitting on a bench inside one of the hallways.
"You do know that you need to ask Evan to lie about your meet up with him right ?" He asked me, Zay is the kind of friend that I really can count on, he's here really anytime and I can't be more happy to have such a guy like him in my small clique.
"Yeah I do know that.. I'll call him tonight" I said smiling at him.
"Yeah... and when will you see Lucas again ?" I quickly looked around, no sign of Riley, Farkle or anyone else of my friends.
"Tomorrow I think, we texted last night and we know that tomorrow we are both free so it's gonna be cool I guess" I insecurely say.
"It's going to be weird you know that ?" I furrow my eyebrows and look at him. "Why ?" I ask.
"Because last time it was a wrong date, this one is going to be a real one"
"Yes but... but maybe with him it won't feel like a date" I shrugged and walked away as the bell rung.
I walked to English class, sat on my seat and waited until the teacher came in.
I was pretty mad, I don't really know why, maybe because my mom doesn't trust Lucas, because Farkle broke up with me, because Josh is inside my mind, who knows ?
Farkle came in later than usual, he was 5 minutes late to class.
"Hello, sorry I'm late miss" he quickly said as he sat next to Maya, at his usual seat. I glance at him, and he stares back, throwing a smile at me.
I smile back, I turn around and see Zay, shaking his head no as he was looking at Farkle, I think Zay might know what's up.
"Alright class today we are going to talk about a book that a lot of you guys recommended me to read" the teacher said, she walked over to her desk, grabbed a book and showed us the front cover.
"13 Reasons Why" I smiled at her
"13 Reasons Why made the world talk about him when the tv show came out, and I don't think we ever talked about the relation between what we see and hear on screen, and what is written on a book.. first of all, who here, read the book ?" She asked the students, a nerd from the back of the class raised her hand. She was the only one.
"Okay, who saw the tv show and finished it ?" Everyone raised their hands.
"Why do you think everyone saw it, but no one read it ?"
Riley raised her hand.
"Because screen makes more effect than books, people think it's easier to watch the movie adaptation from a book than to read the book himself, the world is lazy and always on their phones or computer" she said. Some people from the class were debating wether she was right or not, but she was right.
"Good, thanks for debating" the teacher said, she looked right in my eyes.
"Maya" she picked on me, I look at her.
"Would you ever fall for a Justin ?" She asked me, I glance over at Farkle, Zay and Riley and begin.
"The real questions is, will I ever fall for a Justin again ? Of course not, because I have my little group of friends that I stick up with, and that after seeing the show, I realized that a Justin has nothing to do with a Bryce, but we never know which one is Bryce, and which one is Justin or Clay or any other guy on this tv show because even if they got physically described as the hot football leader and the cute boy who knows if the hottie from the basketball team is a Justin or a Clay ?" Everyone stayed silent and the teacher was still staring at me.
"That's a very good answer Maya, I'm glad you're this smart" she smiled at me, I chuckled at I saw Zay with a mouth wide open.

Lunch table, Zay and I, like always.
"What do you think he is ? A Clay? A Justin or a Bryce ?" He asked me, talking about Lucas.
I hissed my shoulder.
"I don't know, he's the hottie from the basketball, football and baseball team, and I already met up with a Justin and a Bryce" I said. Referring Charlie and Josh, Zay smiled at me, saying that he knows it. But that he just wants me to be happy with a guy that deserves to be loved by me.
I feel my phone vibrating on my pocket, I look at it and see that Lucas sent me a message, I smile and read it.

From Huckleberry:
Hey Maya there's this park next to your house maybe we could meet there tomorrow and then walk somewhere to find an ice cream stand ?"

To Huckleberry:
Yeah okay, or maybe you pick me up after school at 2:40pm and we find a park and an ice cream stand"

I smiled and locked my phone.
"We'll see tomorrow, I have my hand out with him" I tell Zay.
