can we work this out
cause we gave up too much
for even just a glimpse
of us in between ever afters
can we act like it's okay
everything's alright
like nothing broke us
even just for tonight
can we pretend that the lies we knew
weren't truths all twisted
the shouts and doubts
never existed
that memories are realities
and us was something permanent
can we stay the same way we did
before we knew we couldn't
