{Scarlett's POV}

I marched towards Christian's office doors and was about to march in when it opened. My father walked out with Christian in tail and they looked at me surprised.

"What's up, babe?" Christian asked and I sighed locking eyes with him.

"I need to speak to you...alone." I said glancing at my father.

"I'll catch up with you all later, I need to check on your mom."

"Of course, we'll have dinner tonight, sir." Christian said and I smirked at his respectfulness, I bet he never calls anyone sir.

Christian motioned me in and I followed shutting the door.

"What's wrong?"

"My sister just informed me she found her mate." I stated and he cocked an eyebrow.

"Isn't that a good thing?"

"Not when he rejects her!" I said and his eyebrows rose.

"Who was it?" He asked leaning against the front of his desk.

"One of your guards." I said and he looked confused.

"Why would he reject the queen's sister? He'd be crazy." I shrugged.

"I don't know whether to be mad or what! I mean at least he didn't stay with her just because of her title, but what about her? She's upset and I don't know how to comfort her." Christian sighed opening his folded arms motioning me to him.

I walked over as he embraced me in a hug.

"You're too good for this world." he mumbled and pulled away slightly and looked down at me.

"You're sister is a strong girl. We can't force him to be with her as much as I would want to. It wouldn't be a happy pair." I knew he was right, I just wished I could do something.

"Can't you try to show him the male's perspective or something? Show him that it's a magnificent thing he shouldn't miss out on?"

"It's not that easy, Scarlett. For him to reject an immediate royal family member means there is something else going on in the picture. I'm sorry, but I cannot do that."

"I're right. I just hate seeing my little sister like that."

"His loss." Christian said and I looked up at him.

"Do you secretly have a thing for my sister?" I joked and he let out a laugh.

"Sadly, I'm already in love with a smoking hot brunette." he grinned and I laughed.

"Hm, she seems nice." I said and he nodded leaning down.

"She is." He placed his lips on mine and let out a playful growl pulling me closer. I could stay like this all day. His hands on my hips, my hands in his hair.

"I love you." I mumbled against his lips and he only 'hmm'd causing me to smile.

The kiss started to get heated as he turned us around quickly and sat me on his desk.

"Someone could walk in." I said pulling away and he shrugged.

"Who cares." He captured my lips once more deepening it and I gasped lightly as he nipped at my lower lip.

In seconds he was gone and I was left breathless.

"You're heat is starting. My wolf is losing it, I'm sorry I didn't realize." He said and I looked at him smiling softly.

"Christian, it's okay." I said and he shook his head.

"You can't treat me as if I'm a fragile object all the time." I mumbled motioning him back over. He made his way back to me and rested his head on the base of my neck against my mark causing chills to run down my spine.

"After your coronation day-" He started.

"We'll be ready." he pulled away quickly and looked at me.

"Really?" I let out a small laugh.

"I do love you." He gave me a small grin.

"I love you too. Now, lets get you to our room. You're heat will start soon. Im sorry, but we'll have to post pone dinner with your parents." he said and I nodded.

"It's okay, they'll understand."

I groaned as pain hit me in my lower abdomen.

"This sucks." I said as Christian walked over to the bed.

"Scoot over." I did as told and he sat down pulling me to him.

"Just think, this will be your last time in heat." He said placing a kiss on my forehead. I was nervous.

"When is my coronation day?" I asked.

"Next week. I forgot to tell you because I've been... busy." He said and I looked at him questionably.

"With what?" I asked.

"Stuff." He said looking away from my gaze.

"Christian? What is it? I don't want you having all this weight on your shoulders alone." I said and he sighed.

"I know, baby. It's just personal. You'll know soon enough." I was about to say something but the pain started to grow worse.

My wolf whimpered.

"Cold shower time." Christian said swooping me up wedding style and walked us to the bathroom.

He sat me in the tub and turned on the freezing cold water.

"Sit with me?" I asked looking up at him.

"Of course." I sat up and he climbed in behind me as I rested against his chest.

I realized just how lucky I was to have a mate like him. Here we both sat in freezing water, fully clothed, like it was an ordinary day, which for wolves it almost was.

"Have I ever told you how much I love you?" I asked and his chest vibrated with laughter.

"A few times."

"Well...I love you more than...than...than every little grain of sand on all the beaches in the world." I rushed out causing him to laugh again.

"That doesn't even explain my love for you." He competed nipping at my ear.

"Well...I love you more." I said out of ideas and I could practically see his grin.

"Not possible."

"Anything's possible."
