{Scarlett's POV}

I woke up to an arm wrapped tightly around my waist. Smiling, I turned facing Christian. He looked just as handsome sleeping. Without realizing, I brought my hand up slowly tracing his cheek bone and continued down his neck. Seconds later, his eyes fluttered open a small grin appeared on his face.

"I can wake up to that everyday." He said in a husky morning voice, why is that so hot?

"Really now?" I asked and couldn't wipe the grin off my face.

"Really." He pulled me closer burying his face into my neck attacking me with kisses and I let out a squeal.

"Stop!" I said laughing.

"Never." He joked and I couldn't stop laughing, it tickled!

"Christian!" He pulled away giving me a goofy smile.

"Couldn't resist." He said and I laughed rolling my eyes.

"Im starving let me up." I said and he groaned.

"Nooo, stay." He whined.

"What are you, five?" He shrugged.

"Mostly." I deadpanned at him and he sighed.

"Fine, but I'm cooking for you." He said and I raised an eyebrow.

"Yes, I know how to cook." He said reading my mind and I just smiled innocently at him.

"I was never thinking that." I fake gasped and he let out a laugh getting up.

We made our way into the kitchen and I sat on a bar stool watching him. I don't think i've ever been this happy. He moved around effortlessly as he cooked, and I have to admit, he looked good doing it.

I stood from the stool and walked over to the living room grabbing the TV remote an switched it out. I quickly held my ears as a blaring alert system came on and Christian was by my side in seconds looking at the TV.

"This is your news broadcast system. As of May twenty fifth, a war has been declared upon by King Christian and Alpha Mason against the hunters of America. Troops are stationed in these areas, please listen closely to the following..." I drowned the rest out in shock as I stared at the TV.

This is really happening. I worried for the lower cast people of the system. They have no pack for protection.

"Christian, you have to send troops to guard the sectors." He directed his attention towards me with a confused look.

"Why?" he asked and I stared at him agape.

"Why?! WHY?! Because while these little, perfect packs are protected and guarded, the sectors are defenseless. It's not fair! They already are deemed not good enough for a pack, but now they don't even get a little bit of comfort of safety from war, but it's whatever." I said and turned to walk towards the bedroom and he grabbed my arm.

"Don't be mad at me, we just can send anymore troops out." he said and I turned towards him scoffing.

"You know, I was in that sector. One of the worst actually. I was in C. The gates were rotted and rogues easily got in and slaughtered people. Now think about how easy it would be for hunters." I countered and he just looked at me.

"How would it feel knowing that if you hadn't moved my parents up and I was visiting them, and then all of a sudden this war broke out and we had no protection and I was killed?" I asked and he growled, his eyes flickering to gold.

"I wouldn't let that happen."

"Oh! Better yet, what if we never had even met yet! Then I was killed in it and you never would have got to even meet me."
