"I don't get it, why is Harry having his halloween party so early." I spoke up, both Ethan and I looking at the large mansion in front of us, finding it just a bit off-putting that it was 4 o'clock in the middle of the day with all the colorful lights and screams of celebration from inside the spacious, luxurious house."Told him we'd have to cancel going if it was too late in the night since we're taking Gus trick or treating later." Ethan informed, readjusting his costume.
"He's been really insistent we come, I'm just glad that I know he really wants Polly and I back together." He breathed out, trying to relax his stiff, broad shoulders as I slowly turned my head to give him a look.
"He gave you a peasant costume for the party." I pointed out, eyes flickering over his Shakespearean attire.
"Yeah, what about your costume." He shot back with a smirk, taking in my plain white shirt and blue jeans.
"I dressed up as a rich person." I shrugged.
"In what way."
I turned so back was facing him, bringing my arms around me and showing the tag of my shirt to him where I crossed out the label Target and scribbled Gucci over it.
"Seems legit." Ethan acknowledged, exchanging smirks with me before we headed inside.
The entire place just simply radiated with good, genuine fun as people laughed and enjoyed themselves in their costumes, chugging down drinks and jumping in the pool with all their clothes on as Ethan and I tried to find the only people we knew at this party, passing by a mermaid making out with an astronaut on the nearest couch before we spotted Harry and Polly.
Despite the elaborate and detailed costumes everyone was wearing, Harry's regular black t-shirt and jeans was the most surprising to me out of everyone, even besides Polly's princess costume.
I had never seen him dressed so... casually, with his brown waves of hair messily tossed and jeans even wrinkled as I couldn't help but smile at the sight of him, knowing there was a smile on Ethan's face as well while he stared at Polly.
Polly spotted us, beaming with her blonde hair curled and a golden legitimate looking crown on her head before Harry looked over at us, his green eyes immediately zeroing in on me as an eager, dimpled grin spread across his lips.
Unfortunately for Ethan and I, the moment of joy we found in seeing the people we like vanished completely when Polly waved at us, using her other free hand to grab Harry's and drag him towards us, a slight grimace on his face masked by a forced grin.
My smile and Ethan's instantly fell.
"Ah you guys came! And your costumes look amazing!" Polly hopped slightly in excitement when her and Harry were in front of us, still holding onto his hand where Ethan and I had to forcefully tear our eyes away from before we both bore tight, pained smiles.
