Chapter 34 || You Got To Risk It To Get The Biscuit...

"This is a nightmare.", I sighed as I collapsed on my bed, throwing my bag onto my desk chair.

I hope this is all just a dream and I'm about to wake up and everything will go back to normal.

Unfortunately, this is bitter reality. How crazy must a person be in order to make one of their life goals to ruin your life. Not only Noah, but also did she manage to get Paula on her side. And then you think you know someone...

"Don't worry. They'll come around...someday.", Jessica tried comfort me but it didn't really help.

"Yeah, someday. Someday when Marissa and Noah are happily married, have kids and I sit lonely in my rocking chair on my veranda. Old, full of wrinkles and try to knit a pullover for my non-existent grandchildren. You know what the worst part is ? I can't even knit.", I whined, rolling back and forth on my bed.

Jessica rolled her eyes at my comment. "Stop being such a baby. You..."

Her lecture was interrupted by a knock on my door. "Come in."

I watched the door knob being turned around and Kyle entering my room. His dark brown hair was a complete mess as well as his blue white striped shirt which was hanging down on him sloppily.

His rather blank less expression turned into a frown as he caught sight of Jessica. "What is she doing here ? You know that we don't get along with each other. Why are you always forcing us to spend time together ?"

"Just get yourselves together, for God's sake. I don't get why you hate each other so much."

"I don't hate her.", Kyle replied. "I just hope that her next period happens in a shark tank.", he smiled at her patronizingly.

"Aww, that is so cute.", Jessica said with the same weird smile on her face. "You know, I would love to insult you too, but I'm afraid I won't do as well as nature did.", she responded in fake kindness, causing Kyle's jaw to drop. I guess I wasn't the only one who didn't see that coming...

"Would you stop already ?! Wipe away those weird smiles off of your face. We came here to make a plan and not to fight Batman.", I yelled at them.

"Bitch."

"Asshole."

"Slut."

"Idiot."

"Brat."

"Queen."

Kyle looked at me in shock as he realized what Jessica just said. "You told her ?!"

"Oh please.", Jessica rolled her eyes. "She didn't have to tell me because it was more than obvious. I'm sorry, but I have never seen a guy trying to explain to a cheerleader what Tiramisu is or that one time when Anna and Keira were talking about what they should wear for a party and you said to Anna that she should rather wear atomic tangerine than burgundy red because it would match with her eye colour. What the hell even is atomic tangerine ?!", she asked him in confusion. "I'm a girl and even I have never heard of that colour."

"You know.", he started to explain. "It's a mixture of salmon pink and..."

"Guys, focus.", I interrupted their profound discussion. "We need to think of a plan. Any suggestions ?"

"I'm still in favour of killing her. Simple and straight. She wouldn't be that much of a loss anyway. Her life had more purpose when her hair was still orange. I'm just saying.", Jessica threw her hands up.

I gave her a "Are You Serious" - look. "Jessica, I already told you, you can't just kill people.", she rolled her eyes at me.

"Jessica, I already told you, you can't just kill people.", she mimicked me with a mocking voice. "Of course, you can. You can do anything you want, you just need to believe in yourself."

"Any useful suggestions ?", I asked, ignoring Jessica's sarcastic comment.

"Well, it is impossible for us to prank her in any kind of way because it will immediately fall back on Sofía which means we have to concentrate on uncovering Marissa's foul play.", Kyle remarked pensively.

"I think I know something.", they turned their head at me immediately, gazing at me expectantly. "Marissa once told me that she has some kind of diary in which she notes down everything. Maybe we can find something in there to use against her."

"Do you think Marissa is stupid enough to write something like that down ?", Jessica pointed out.

True. I don't actually believe she would leave proof of her plan, lying around in her room but it is everything we've got...

"I know but it's our only chance.", I sighed. "The problem is that I have no idea how we are going to get her journal, without her noticing. This is practically impossible."

"You are right.", Kyle agreed. "There are too many people in school which means the probability of getting caught is way too high. The only way to get her diary is if someone would get in her house to get it."

Their heads turned at me, both of them raising their eyebrows. "Oooh, no. Definitely not. Have you seen her house ? This place is a huge mansion which is under better surveillance than the white house. For-get it."

"Come on. It's our only chance. We need to make a plan on how we can get you past the camera's. I know a guy who knows a guy who kind of works in that, let's say, industry. You just need to tell me everything you know about the house.", Jessica demanded eagerly.

Kyle and me looked at each other. We didn't know whether to be amazed or completely freaked out.

"Guys, this is a crime. We can get arrested for doing something like that.", I exclaimed.

"Only if we don't do it right. As I said I have some friends who would be willing to help us but this can only work out if we work as a team. I mean it. Sofía is right when she says that this mansion is has better protection than the white house. I'm not talking about some climbing through a window. I've been to her house and believe me when I say that this is going to quite an act.", Jessica said.

I was frightened by what Jessica just had said. I don't want Marissa to ruin my life completely but I'm not really that type of person who is in favour of taking risks like that.

"I don't know. What if we get caught and then arrested. Well, what if I get caught an arrested. My mom will slaughter me to death. Do you even realize how ridiculous that is ? Just because of one diary.", I pointed out worriedly.

"You won't be alone, I promise you that. This is way too big for you to manage that alone. At least one of us has to go with you. I know this is pretty huge but school may be over soon but Marissa will always be a part of your life because of your mom. Do you really want to see Marissa, entering and leaving your house with Noah every day. I know that you love Noah and that you do not want him to be with someone like her. What if your mom and Mark marry each other ? Your mom and Mark will be living together and everything will get worse. You already had to put up with her once. Do you really want to keep doing that for the rest of your life ?", Jessica looked at me questioning.

"I've never thought that these words will ever leave my mouth, but Jessica is right. Although this sound very extreme it is our only chance. Even if we get caught, we will just come up with some lame excuse and I don't think that Mark will ever sue you or anything, especially because you are his girlfriends daughter.", Kyle explained.

I know that they are both right but I don't know if I'm willing to take a risk like that. On the other hand, I hate Marissa's guts and I want to stop her stupid plan.

"Okay, fine. I'm in."
