Sc. 23 INT - SHADOWKEEPER'S CAVERN - DAY

A choppy image, from the Chapel Pool's POV, of Brigid stomping out of the glade. The image is playing like a film projected on the surface of the lake.

The Shadowkeeper-mist is coiled lazily around the lake, it is too dark to see anything beyond. Bradan surfaces breaking the image.

As the picture disperses, a Shadow near Bradan stands out in his modern pyjamas - it is Lachlan.

BRADAN: Why is the raven meddling, do you think?

SHADOWKEEPER: He's bored. What does it matter?

BRADAN: She is walking the Realm with the berries. Does that not concern you?

SHADOWKEEPER: Why should it? She is no Champion.

BRADAN: Perhaps the bird sees something we do not.

SHADOWKEEPER: Nothing is hidden from the pool. We see all.

BRADAN: We see all that is. He sees all that may be.

SHADOWKEEPER: And thus he is no more informed than the rest of us. The bird may have his fun. The child does not have the heart for the task. Now show me another gateway... the little one in Peru.

The Salmon sinks back into the pool and an image begins to ripple across the surface.
