Boosh! This is practice in believably blending drawn characters and real backgrounds. Whaddya think? I'm also gonna use this as my new header, seeing it's the right size.

If you noticed the cat, congrats! You're not frickin' blind! He's a new character I think I will be drawing often. His name is Moonshine. Moonshine is what I call a Space Cat! They are extraterrestrial felines with stars in their eyes and space in their fur. Space Cats are part of a line of other Space Animals. Pretty much any species has a spacey counterpart. All Space Animals have three to four fur colours. One of the colours is the main body colour, while the others blend out onto the extremities. Ears, tails, legs, wings, and faces/muzzles all fade these colours together. There can also be a faded marking on the chest OR a faded patch on the back. Sometimes there's neither. The first colour (the base) is any blue, purple, or turquoise/teal colour. The others are lighter colours which blend out of the main. Take this for example:

(Yes, I do know there is one extra colour. I made this palette earlier). This is what the fur of a Space Animal might look like. The lightest colour is used for the skin and eyes. And about the eyes, there's something else. Every Space Animal eye has a star instead of normal eye bits (iris, pupil, etc.)! This is it for the appearance of a Space Animal.

As for the general behaviour and such of a Space Animal, they are usually very calm. Space Animals are nocturnal as well. They are very afraid of loud noises and they prefer the absence of most loud or sharp sounds. In fact, Space Animals are mute. The diet of a Space Animal is just what the normal counterpart would eat. One last thing: all Space Animals are telepathic. Yes, I know it sounds cliché, but this is how they communicate. Space Animals have the innate ability to communicate with each other, but another species would have to form a bond to receive their messages. To form a bond, you have to have a Space Animal trust you. Once it does, you're set!

That's all for my new species! I wrote way more than I thought I would in this. Please don't steal this species or make anything similar. On the flip side, if this is close to your species and you don't like that please politely notify me and I'll make any necessary changes. Also, If any of you guys see somebody potentially copying this species, please let me know and I'll go sort it out. Thank you! (Psst, if you ask me kindly you just might gain my permission to make your own! Comment here or PM me about it and I'll see.)
