A nothing

A young girl strolled upon the wet sand of a beach, the morning sky glowing a warm orange. Out of the corner of her eye, she spotted a small glass bottle. The girl; Imogen, couldn't help but notice there was something inside the sealed container. Stopping in her tracks, she turned to the small item.

Imogen picked it up, the curiosity within her reaching its peak. Pulling out the cork, she peered into the narrow neck of the bottle. Confusion flickered in her mind, contemplating whether her eyes had decieved her or not.

Inside the bottle; nothing.

Imogen could have sworn she saw it, the item inside. Was it a trick? Nobody would ever know what was there, she wouldn't know, you won't know, nobody has, nobody ever will. A puzzle. A mystery.

A nothing.
