I blinked the stars from my eyes and looked around. The cages were still holding everyone behind bars, all silent and seemingly unconscious. Laelyn laid motionless on the floor, and Daeva was nowhere to be seen - in her place was Link, looking just as confused as I did. What did I do?!
"Where am I?" He panicked.
"Back in the labyrinth," I said hastily. I had to figure out what happened when I lost control, and quickly. "Did you see where Daeva went?"
"Where? Wait... Who?" He stammered, trying to understand. "Beckham, did you dye your hair?"
"You just saw me-" I started, then gasped. "Link... Do you remember what happened in the past few days?"
"Uh... Yeah, you and Lyn went missing! Shouldn't you already know that?" He wondered, shaking his head.
"What's your eye color?" I asked carefully, knowing what he'd answer.
"Green. You're looking at me right now!" He exclaimed. "What's going on?"
"Alright, I'm going to tell you something, and you're not going to freak out, okay?" I said. He nodded slowly. "Okay. I think you traveled through a portal - you're on Soryx now."
"I'm on what?" He asked. "Is that like a drug or something? Oh my God... Did someone drug me?"
"No," I laughed, "Soryx is a planet. Like Earth. Exactly like Earth, actually. Just in a different dimension."
"Different dimensions don't exist. Is this a prank?" He looked around for cameras, still panicking.
"They do exist, actually," I mumbled. "That doesn't matter. What happened directly before right now? Do you remember?"
"Alyrica and I were walking around downtown, and we saw a weird light, so I went to check it out and..." he trailed off. "Actually, I don't remember what happened after that."
"That light you saw was a portal," I explained. I must have triggered it.
"Wait, then where's Alyrica?" He asked.
"Link?!" I heard someone call. Their voice was weak and groggy. We turned to the source of the voice and Link gasped.
"Lyric? Oh my God, are you okay? Your hair's black. Why is your hair black? And your eyes are brown. Where are we? Wait, first are you okay?" He babbled, running over to her and finally shutting up.
"I could ask you the same thing," she laughed. "First you were kidnapped, then you disappeared, and now... Wait, of course my hair is black. What are you talking about?"
"No, your hair is supposed to be brown. And you have blue eyes..." Link trailed off.
"Let me clear this up," I interjected, "This is Earth-Link. This is Soryx-Alyrica. You don't know each other."
"You can't tell me I don't know my boyfriend," Alyrica snapped.
"Wait, what's going on?!" Link shouted in confusion. By now, most everyone was awake. Everyone except Laelyn, I thought sadly. If she was hurt, I'd never forgive myself.
"We don't have very much time to explain. Who knows where Daeva is," I said, running a hand through my hair.
"She disappeared after you blasted everything with light or whatever," Alyrica huffed. "I want to know what's going on, too."
"She disappeared? What do you mean?" I asked.
"I don't know!" Alyrica shouted. "You lost control after she started talking about some Grace chick, and it was hard to see because you blinded all of us, but Daeva screamed and just... Disappeared."
"I didn't try to... What did I do?" I mumbled.
"Either way she's gone now," Alyrica continued. "Why don't you explain why you think Link isn't actually Link?"
"He's from Earth," I heard someone pipe up behind us. Isaac. "He's immune, so he wasn't affected by the curse of the portal. Just like Beckham and Lyn."
"How do you know that?" I asked, turning to him.
"His eyes. You said it earlier, you can see the flash of green," he shrugged. "Easy."
"You can only see that if you're im-"
"Is anyone going to help Lyn?" I heard Chanson shout.
Right, Laelyn! I thought. I ran over to where she sat, awake and alarmed. Her eyes flitted across the room nervously, as if expecting something more to happen. She finally stopped and looked up at me.
"Are we okay?" She asked. We.
"Yeah, we're okay." I tried to hide a smile and helped her up. "Daeva's gone, and Link's back."
"Link's back?" She exclaimed happily.
"Lyn!" Link yelled, running over and wrapping her in a big bear hug. "Mom's been worried sick! What happened?" He let her go, and she gave me a questioning look with wide eyes.
"He, uh... He's your actual brother. From Earth," I said, scratching the back of my neck. "I'll explain later."
Laelyn's mouth pulled into a huge smile, the first smile I'd seen from her in awhile. She pulled Link into another hug, tears forming in her eyes. "I missed you so much!" She laughed.
"Oh hey, we should probably get back to school," Link reminded.
"We've had bigger problems than school lately," Laelyn said. "We had to save you - well, the other you - from Daeva. I think geometry can wait."
"Not because of geometry, Lyn." Link laughed, nudging her with his shoulder. "Someone wanted to see you guys. They said it was important."
"Who?" I asked.
"She said her name was Grace."
