This is a poem I wrote my dad, my senior year of highschool.

My Hero

He is my Hero, My Idol, and My World,

I am his little girl,

He taught me a lot of things I know and do,

Like 1 8 4 3 6 5 7 2,

The firing order of a small block, Chev V-8,

In auto class I was the girl who got the A,

To respect, be warm and kind,

To learn you must challenge your mind,

Even when you feel your luck is rotten,

To get to the top, you have to hit rock bottom,

Family is a circle that goes round and round,

We stick together to keep our feet on the ground,

His words will stay with me for the longest time,

I will pass on his advice until I have mine,

To this day when I hug him, in his eyes I see,

The way things used to be,

I am jealous of a girl who is one year old,

Whom he will teach to stay tough and bold,

She gets to stay with daddy and play,

Well I go to work all day,

That was me then, it is her time now,

She will learn from him, when she doesn't know how,

Though I am growing up, my memories are clear,

As we grow further apart, year after year,

And I will soon be moving away,

If I had a choice, I would choose to stay,

I have to move on, I have to stay tough,

But I know he will be there when the going gets rough,

I love you dad, and I always will,

You are my hero, my idol and rule my world,

I will always be your little girl
