CHAPTER 16: HER FEAR

“Balak mo talagang magkulong dyan?” I heard his rough yet sexy-ish kind of voice from across the room. Hindi ba niya maintindihan ang gusto kong mangyari?! I want to be alone! Ano ba kasing nasa isip niya at may pa-date date pa siyang nalalaman? To think that we’re in the middle of this.. this terrifying and unpredictable situation. Hindi man lang niya naisip ang nararamdaman ko.

I’m a mess.

I’m scared.

I feel so alone.

Kung sana nandito si Harv- Okay, stop. Stop thinking about him. Siguro nga baliw na ako, yung dapat na taong kinamumuhian ko eh hinahanap-hanap ko pa. Nakakainis! Nakakasira ng ulo. Tama nga sila.. The person closest to you is the one who will hurt you the most.

“I’m the owner of the house, Chloe. I have the keys.”

“ARGH!” I forced myself to stand and walked through that door. Sobra siyang mapilit! I said “No” to his invitation but look! Heto’t nangungulit pa rin siya. Is my response that difficult to understand?!

“LEAVE ME ALONE OR I’LL LEAVE THIS HOUSE!” sigaw ko sa pintuan. Ba’t ko ba sinasayang ang boses ko sa lalaking ito?! Walang kwenta.

“ARAY!” Napahawak ako sa noo ko nang may matigas na kahoy na bumangga dito. What the f-

“You can’t leave here because you’re the one who wants to be with me in the first place.”

I scoffed. Ano ako? Desperada? “Oo, tinawagan kita. I called you because I’m hopeless. I chose to trust you. I thought you’ll understand.” Naiirita ako sa mga pinagsasasabi niya! Following the path of his voice, I glared at his direction. “Guess what I found out, this whole thing was a huge mistake.”

Sinimulan kong paganahin ang aking mga tuhod at palakarin ang mga paa ko patungo sa direksyong magpapalabas sakin sa kwartong ito. Hindi nga ako nagkamaling nasa bukana lang siya dahil nahagip ko pa ang amoy niyang nakakapaghipnotismo ng utak.

“Aalis ka talaga?” He's so serious. Dead serious.

“Oo, ano naman sa’yo?” Napatigil ako sa paglalakad. “Ah oo nga pala. Mahalaga ako sa’yo.” I’m just a mere experiment to him. An obsession.

“You’re in danger, Chloe. You know that. So please stop acting like a child.”

Bakit ba ang kalmado niya lagi? He’s really good in controlling his emotions. Nakakaasar. Kung ikukumpara kami ngayon, mas mukha pa akong pathetic sa kanya.

Humarap ulit ako sa likuran ko. “Then stop bugging me about that STUPID DATE!”

“Okay then, fine. Just stay here. Don’t leave this house. And please, don’t do something foolish that will make your life at stake.”
