Mia's P.O.V

I watched as Grace got yelled at by Daniel. His right hand looked to be occupied with something. That's when I realized, it was my baseball equipment.

I walked over to them, silently. I snatched my bag from Daniels hand, glaring daggers through his soul.

"Mi-"

"What the hell is wrong with you Daniel?! Why would you take my stuff?!" I exclaim, after cutting him off.

"I didn't-"

"I thought you were my friend! I guess I have to rethink that decision huh?" I say.

"Mia, I didn't take your stuff. It was Grace, I swear." He said.

I rolled my eyes.

"First it's the game. Now it's this. What more do I have to do to prove myself?" He said.

I begin to walk away.

"I'm talking to you." He said, grabbing me.

I yanked my arm from him.

"Don't touch me." I say.

"Listen to me Mia. I swear to god, I didn't take your stuff." He said.

"Then why was it in your hand just now?" I say.

"Did you not just see me yelling at Grace?" He said.

"No. I was too busy trying to figure out why you, of all people, had my stuff." I say.

"If it wasn't for me looking into Grace's locker, your equipment would still be 'missing'. So you should be thanking me for helping you out." He said.

I just walked away, ignoring his request for me to stop.

Me and Steph sat beside Elizabeth as we sat behind the glass at Ryan's Hockey game. We watched as both teams skated around the ice pregame.

Ryan and his best friends, Gabriel and Tristan, were goofing around. Unbuckling ones helmet or knocking the others stick out of his hand. Playfully punching one another, etc.

It was kinda funny to watch. I soon noticed that Elizabeth was talking to someone. The girl she was talking to leaned forward to say hi to Steph. She then looked at me with a confused look on her face.

"Lizzy who's this?" The girl asked.

"This is Mia, Ryan's sister. Adopted sister. On his accord, his actual sister." Elizabeth explained.

"Oh. Hello Mia, I'm Mary-Ann." Mary-Ann introduced herself.

"Hi." I say, waving shyly.

"How old are you?" She asked.

"14." I reply.

"Oh, you're a big girl. 8th grade?" She asked.

"Yeah." I say.

"Have you thought about High School yet?" She asked.

"Yes." I say.

"Have you thought of where you want to go?" She asked.

"Not really." I say.

"Have you thought of coming to Westlake Valley?" She asked.

"Do they have a good baseball team?" I ask.

"We're the second top high school baseball team in the state. Why? Are you planning on playing baseball?" She asked.

I nod.
