Chapter Nine // Bambino

I was crying in the bathroom, feeling pathetic and miserable. I wasn't even sure why I was crying. Johnny was only talking to Steve. It wasn't a big deal at all.

I heard the bathroom door open.

"Ponyboy?" asked the voice. I could immediately tell that it was Johnny. His accent was thicker than usual.

I just sniffled. I didn't want to see or talk to him.

"Come on, tesoro. I just want to talk to you and make you feel better," he whispered. I could tell that he was desperate. I slowly exhaled.

"Bambino, please! I want to make you feel better. I want to know how to help," he begged. He sounded so helpless.

I sighed. He sounded hurt and like he wasn't faking.

I stood up to open the bathroom stall, but I heard foot steps walking away.

Quickly, I swung the door open, and ran out.

"Johnny, wait!" I shouted. He immediately turned around.

I threw myself at him, hugging him tightly.

My chin was resting on his shoulder, and he was holding me close. His hands were on my lower back, rubbing it.

I began to sob even harder.

"Hush, hush, bambino. It's going to be alright," he whispered in my ear.

I shivered when I felt the heat from his breathe touch my neck.

I felt a stirring in my pants..

Johnny and I were sitting under a tree outside, eating our lunches. He had packed food for the both of us.

As of right now, the both of us were eating caprese salad with salami on bed. We were also sipping on some iced coffee.

"Hey, Pony?" he started. I looked at him.

"What is it?" I replied. I was still a bit mad at him.

"..Have you ever kissed someone before?" he asked shyly. I felt my cheeks go bright red.

"What? Yes! I mean- No, no I haven't," I stated, slightly embarrassed. I felt my hands start to sweat.

"Oh, alright," he mumbled. I raised my eyebrows.

"Why?" I questioned. I saw him gulp.

"No reason," he started. His tanned cheeks went pink.

"Well, I should get going," he stated. His speech was rushed.

He gave me a simple peck on the cheek. It went pink again.

"B- bye," I stuttered.

I watched Johnny walk off.

"Hey Pony, can we talk?" asked Steve. We were sitting alone in the living room.

Well, technically we were alone. Two Bit was passed out drunk on the floor.

"Oh, sure, Steve. What about?" I questioned, nervously. Steve never wanted to talk to me.

"We have to go to your room to talk," he stated.

I felt my whole face get white.
