High School Crush- Chapter 1{PART 1}

Y/N's POV

It started out today. I'm walking to school again, without Aaron.. Ugh.. I wish he was here with me. Oh well. While I'm walking to the school grounds, though, I see a blue haired... freshman I suppose? I walk over to him and say, "I'm assuming you are a freshman..?" He whips around and looks at me. "Why, y-yes I'm a-" He stops his sentence and I giggle a bit. "I thought I recognized you!" "Y-Y/N? Y-You're here!" Casey said. "Wow! Look at you in that uniform! You look so grown up! Katelyn must be proud! Is she around?" I ask. "N-no.. She came to school earlier." He replied. "Hmm.. she must be setting up club stuff then.." I say. "It's such a shame, though. You think you want to see her brother on the first day of high school." "That would've been great, at least then I would know someone here." He said. I chuckle, "Well, you do know me!" "Huh?" "I can show you around if you want?" I ask Casey. Oh yeah, forgot; I'm a mentor now with Teony, Katelyn, Kawaii~Chan, Aphmau, and more!

"No! A cool sophomore like you shouldn't be hanging out with a lame freshman like me.." He replied. "Hey now, where are you getting that talk from? Come on, we're friends! I would never not be around you." I say while smiling. "R-Really..?" "Really! Now, how about I show you around?" I ask again. "I couldn't ask that of you. I don't want to waste your time." He replied sadly. "Not at all! It's actually a part of my job to help you. I'm a mentor! See?" I say and showed him the sash on my arm. "What does that mean?" Casey asked. "It means that I'm here to help! So come on, let's go inside!" "But-" "The only butts here are the ones that are moving, namely yours. Now come on! Besides, I thought it would be nice to walk around with you!" "U-uh, I guess it would be cool to walk around with you. Plus, I can get to know the place better!" "AWESOME! SELFIE TIME!" I say excitedly. "Me?!" "Yeah! I've been trying to take more this year!" "O-okay, sure!" We then took a selfie and it looked cute! "AWESOME! Alright, come on, this way!" I say and lead him to the front doors.

"S-so, this is the front desk. Um, obviously if you get lost, they'll help you f-find things if you can't find a mentor. O-over here is the lounge, and umm, hmm..." I stutter out while showing him around. Ugh, I'm embarrassed.. first time doing this.. "A-are you okay?" Casey asked. "Y-yeah, yeah! I'm perfectly fine!" I reply. 'I-I can't let him know that I'm nervous.. He's the first person I'm mentoring! I have to be a good example for him!' I thought. "A-are you sure?" "I-I'm sure, I'm sure. Uh, so! Casey, I just realized that you probably don't care about the front desk and stuff. Why don't you tell me what you want to know and I'll answer all your questions!" I say, kind of messing up there. "W-well.. uh.. I guess I would like to know where lunch is..?" He asked. "Oh perfect! It's right over here." I say and lead him to the cafeteria.

"Ta-da!" I say when we came to the cafeteria. "Wow.. This is so much bigger than the lunchrooms in middle school." He said, amazed. "Uh-huh, AND there's a lot to choose from from lunch-" I got interrupted by someone. "Hey Y/N!" I turn around and see Garroth. "Hey Garroth!" "Oh it's great to see you!" He said. "Great to see you too Garroth!" "Huh? Is this your friend?" Garroth asked. "Oh right! Casey, Garroth. Garroth, Casey!" I replied, almost forgetting that Casey was there. "H-hi.." Casey said shyly. "Today's Casey's first year! And guess what? He's Katelyn's little brother!" I say while smiling. "Really? I thought he looked familiar.. It's nice to meet you man." Garroth said kindly. "N-nice to meet you too." "Oh! I gotta get going. Laurence and I are setting up a club for orientation." Garroth said, then left. "See you later Garroth! Tell Laurence I said hi and give him a big hug for me!" Garroth chuckled before he 'actually' left. "Do that yourself! He's been looking forward to seeing you again." He explained. I chuckled too. "Fine! I'll do it then! See you later!" I reply. What I didn't notice though, was that someone bumped into Casey. "Watch it freshman!" A guy said. "I-I didn't mean to.." "Wow, not an even 'I'm sorry'. How rude." A girl said. "Watch where you're going! You don't wanna mess with the leader of the Shadow Knights, do ya?" The guy replied. I turned around and frowned. "I don't even know who he is!" Casey replied, being innocent. "Tryin' to play dumb-" "Hey! Leave him alone!" I said, defending Casey.

"Oh look, it's you." Sasha said.

Zenix chuckles, "Well hey there Kitty."

I sigh, "Call me by my actual name. Now, you guys run along and leave my friend alone. He doesn't need any trouble from you guys." "Fine. You're lucky this time freshman." Zenix scoffs. "Who on earth were they?" Casey asked, turning around to look at me in confusion. "They're a small gang called the 'Shadow Knights'. Since our original leader graduated, they've been acting tough but, I think it's all an act. Either way, DON'T get involved with them." I replied. "Oh, okay. Umm, where do I go start class or whatever?" Casey said. "Do you have a schedule?" "Yeah, I do, right here." "Ha! Perfect! I'll take you to your homeroom then! This way!" I say and lead him to his homeroom.

{Timeskip}

"Here you go! This'll be your homeroom! Classes will start in a while!" I say. "Thank you so much Y/N! Honestly, I would've ran home if you haven't helped me back there.." Casey replies. "Not a problem! I'm just glad I could help!" I chuckled. "More than you know! So I just go and wait for class to start?" He asked. "If you want. Here, this is the handbook they gave me to help me mentor. But, if you want to read it to pass time, it should help you get to know more about the school!" I said and gave him my mentor book. "Awesome! Thanks. Really, I appreciate this." "Not a problem! Maybe we can hang out sometime! See you later Casey!" I wave goodbye to him and he waves back, while I'm going back to Teony.

"Y/N, you're back!" Teony said. "H-hey Teony. Wanted to turn in my sash for today." "Did you at least help one student?" She asked. "Yep! I sure did!" "Perfect, then this program might work after all! Why don't you go around and help more?" I start to sweat and chuckle nervously. "Let me guess, you're nervous?" Teony said. "YOU HAVE NO IDEA! I THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO DIE IN FRONT OF CASEY! I LEAD HIM AROUND IN CIRCLES TRYING TO FIND HIS HOMEROOM AND HE PROBABLY THINKS I'M A LOSER!" I say very quickly. Teony starts laughing. "F-Fine! I'll take your sash for today. You helped one person so that's more than meets what they asked you to do." She said. "I-I'm sorry Teony.. I want to be more outgoing and.. I'm really trying!" I say sadly. "You're doing a great job, never doubt that! You'll become more confident in time."

"KAWAII~CHAN IS BAACK!" Kawaii~Chan yelled, barging in. I jumped and looked at her.

"Kawaii~Chan, how did your round go?" Teony asked. "Umm.." She replied. She laughed nervously. "Hmph, well I suppose there are two types of people..." Teony said smirking. "Alright, I helped a freshman I think.. Ugh, can we just chill with the mentoring for now? It's the first day." Lucinda said, walking in. "Three. Make that three types of people." Teony replied. I looked at everyone, waiting.. I guess..? "Alright ladies we can take a break into lunch time." Teony said. I nodded while Kawaii~Chan was disappointed and Lucinda was happy. I smiled and shook my head.

I think everything will change once I mentor more..
