After that day, things seemed to be routine. Wake up, go to class, head back to the dorm, do homework, then hang out with team RWBY and JNPR. We were becoming great friends, and I actually got Blake to come out of her shell a little. It had gotten to the point where she actually put the book away when people were around. She hadn't really opened up to me since that night outside of my dorm. However, I didn't forget about my offer from that night.
It had been a few weeks where things changed a little. I was walking out of my last class. It was a Friday so the weekend was fresh. Curfew was later so we could go into Vale for the evening if we pleased. I didn't usually go unless I had to. This night was one night I didn't plan on going on down.
I was taking a different route from class to my dorm just for fun.
This is when I passed a door I never noticed before. I looked at the name plate next to it. It read Music Room.
I was confused to say the least.
'Why does a school, designed to train warriors, have a music room?' Was a question I asked. I found out later Ozpin put it in because he didn't want kids who were musically inclined to squander their talents. But my curiosity go the best of me, I walked into the room and flipped the light on.
It was fully equipped with guitars, drums, speakers, and tons of other instruments.
I was shocked, it was great. I smiled and ran my hand across a drum set. It had been a while since I had seen one. There was once one in the lounge of the Tower. But Ikora had it taken down to storage to make room for creepy tentacle face dude, who came to sell weapons and gear every weekend. I had practiced with it, and actually got good.
I sat behind the set, and picked up the sticks. They were almost new. I spun one in my right hand, and got a feel for it.
I started off with a beat. It was from a song by this group one of my friends showed me way before the Collapse. You guys might know it, it was Ride by Twenty-One Pilots. Great song if you ask me. She had a great taste in music.
While I was drumming away, apparently someone saw the light on. So they thought they'd poke their head in to see who it was.
"You can play the drums?" a voice asked from the door.
I looked up to see Yang in the doorway, with her hands on her hips.
"A little," I replied and kept drumming.
"It sounds like you've had a lot of practice," she continued moving her hips to the beat.
I smiled and continued.
She smiled and looked at me.
I then started to slow down my drumming. Then stopping, while standing up. I placed the drumsticks where I got them, and stood up. Yang then stood next me. I looked at her. She smiled and put an arm around me.
"So, wanna head into Vale tonight? The whole team is going down for good food."
I looked at her, "I wasn't really planning on doing anything."
"Your girl is gonna be there," Yang said with a smirk.
I felt my face heat up and I looked away. "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Come on, Felix. Blake told us everything. Cause, well, she had to. We were playing truth or dare still and that's what came up."
I shook my head and smiled.
"So, what are you guys gonna go get?"
"Depends on how many people we get to come along. You in?"
