Why?

The next morning I awoke a little later than I’ve normally been getting up. Though, Daryl had already left the tent. I quickly pulled the bag over that held all the new clothes that Glenn had gotten me and pulled a shirt and a pair of jeans out, then slipped on the long sleeved shirt Daryl had let me borrow (http://www.polyvore.com/untitled_11/set?id=113702942). I ran my fingers through my hair trying to rid it of any tangles before I left the tent. I walked over to the rest of the group who were sat around eating breakfast. I took a seat next to Daryl as Carol handed me a plate of eggs.

“Thank you,” I said, taking the plate and digging in.

She just smiled and handed Daryl his plate.

“Uh, guys,” Glenn said. We all looked up at him waiting for him to continue. “So… The barns full of walkers.”

Everyone immediately stopped what they were doing to stare at him. Shane was the first to move towards the barn, and everyone soon followed.

Shane put his face up to a crack in the boards to see for himself. “You can’t tell me you’re alright with this,” He growled as he stalked over to Rick.

“I’m not, but we’re guest here. This isn’t our land.”

“God! This is our lives man!”

“Lower your voice,” I said, glaring at Shane from beside Daryl.

“We can’t just sweep this under the rug,” Andrea spoke, everyone completely ignoring my comment.

“Yeah, you’re right,” Shane said. “We gotta go in there and make things right,” He said, pointing a finger at Rick. “Or we gotta go. Now we’ve been talkin’ about Fort Benning for a while no-“

“We cannot go!” Rick interrupted.

“Why not? Rick, why?” He questioned.

“Cause my daughter’s still out there,” Carol spoke.

Shane ran his hands over his face as he looked at her. “I think it’s time that we all just start to consider the other possibility.”

“Shane, we’re not leaving Sophia behind!” Rick snapped.

“I’m close ta findin’ this girl. I just found ‘er damn doll two days ago!” Daryl argued.

“Her doll, Daryl, that’s what you found! You found a doll!”

“Man, you don’t know what tha hell you’re talking ‘bout!” Daryl stalked forward towards Shane.

Rick placed himself in between them as Shane started shouting again. “I’m just trying to say what needs to be said here! You get a good lead in the first forty eight hours. Let me tell you somethin’ else! If she was alive out there and saw you coming all methed out with your buck knife and geek ears ‘round your neck, she’d run in the other direction!”
