The screech of Train speeding on the metal tracks was loud, sounding like a mix of a harpy's scream and the slam of heavy nails against a chalkboard. The sky filled with smoke from the fire a few carts down. The heavy smell of metal and sulfur hung in the air as the adrenaline coursed through my veins. My pulse hammering in my body. Growing harder and harder each second. I turn to look at the maiden beside me. Her amber hair fluttering in the ponytail behind her. Her face streaked with dirt, grime and sweat. Her hand tightly around her vicious looking blade and her eyes filled with bravery and determination. And my gosh she was a beautiful sight.

" M-master? " her tired but strong voice filled my ears snapping out of the trace I was in.

" Ye-Yea Erin? " I say, realizing that I had been staring at her, I held my breath trying to fight the heat rising to my face.

" Are you alright sir? You looked.... troubled " she said concern filled her eyes as she had looked over to me, scanning me up and down.

My throat suddenly felt dry and my words seemed to be stuck somewhere inside my throat. Then a sudden bang of metal against metal filled the air. Screeching of sharp blades filled the air and amongst the thick fog, pairs of red eyes started to appear. One by one, looking as menacing as the last. The sound of an army drew closer and closer. I turn back to look at a girl with scratches and bruises up from her arms and leg, her lip bleeding and eyes shining with tears as she held her brother Spence who look limp and fragile as paper, close to her wrapping her arms around him protectively.

Our only exit e few steps away, but those same steps lead to certain death if one was not careful to get over there, my heart rammed harder in my chest knowing that either we all die here together.... or someone stays while everyone else leaves.... my mind swirled with confusion and dread. Thoughts and ideas flew around my head like a thousand papers flying everywhere only making an even bigger mess, and then suddenly a hand grabbed my the sleeve of my coat.

I look up to see the determined face of my butler. She looked my in the eye, her seeming as brave and forceful as I've ever heard it sounded. " Sir... I think I have a plan... but I need you all to trust me... " she said trying to looking brave, but I saw past it and saw a small seed of doubt at the look she gave me. A memory flashes in front of my eyes, and I am in my childhood home.

I saw myself playing with a wooden train on a carpet near the warm fireplace which lit up the dark cold room. My mother was sitting and humming quietly to herself as she carefully and slowly knitted something. She suddenly stops and pats her swollen belly and then looks up to me a small but beautiful and joyous laugh escaping her small lips which had formed a smile ' To take a risk is something brave, but to dare to trust is something more ' she told me. I look in a puzzled manner up at her and then she smiled and picked me up. ' You'll learn what I mean in your own time my little hero, for now i think it's time to nap hon ' she said as a yawn escaped my lips....

And  then I am pulled back into the reality of a full on battle about to happen. I take one gaze at Erin, looking at me with a determined expression and a fire blazing bright in her violet eyes. She stood straight giving her a look of confidence and it......it took my breath away, " Ok.... I trust you Erin " I said, letting out a shaky breath. She smiled and said " Ok sir, just let me take the lead " and that's when everything went downhill....
