Chapter 16: Fourth Quarter
The Fourth and Final Quarter begins!
"Johoshi! Member change!" the announcer said.
"Eh... they're changing members again?" Kise asked, looking from the bench.
They looked to see that Kazuto walking off the court and another blond guy stepped onto the court. Tamaki (#9 SG).
"Oh, so they're finally putting in their shooting guard?" Aomine said. "Why didn't they just put him from the beginning?"
"They're up to something..." Akashi said.
And the game resumes!
"Alright! Let's win this!" Tamaki exclaimed. He stretched his fingers, as if warming them up. Midorima looked at the guy he was supposed to be marking with doubt. This guy doesn't even seem serious about the game at all.
Akashi did throw in, and he immediately sends the ball to Midorima, and he shoots a three. It went in!
"Wah! A three right from the start!"
Midorima looked at the guy in front of him with disdain. This guy couldn't even do a proper block against him! "Why is he on court?" he thought.
"Aw man!!" Tamaki went, pouting.
"And now he's pouting?!" Midorima thought.
"Tamaki, don't mind. We'll get it back," Tetsuya said.
"Yay!" Tamaki jumped, which only made Midorima look at him with more disbelief.
Tetsuya smiled. Right, Tamaki may be a little weird, but he's reliable when it comes down to it. "Alright, time to get our lead," he said, facing the team.
Katatsura, Hitogaku, Brett and Tamaki smiled.
Katatsura did throw in, and Tetsuya caught it. They all smiled. "Let's tune it down for now, shall we?" Tetsuya asked.
At that moment, Riko suddenly felt a shiver up a spine. "What is this feeling? This is just like when we had that mini game in Seirin! That year when Kuroko came!"
Just then, Tetsuya dribbled the ball, with Kagami following him. But suddenly, Kagami found himself way too far from Kuroko. "What the?! He's not speeding up?"
Tetsuya threw the ball over to Hitogaku. Aomine tried intercepting, but... "Huh?! The ball hasn't reached me yet?!" And his momentum caused him to pass just as the ball flew behind him.
Everyone was staring at the scene unfolding in front of them. What is going on?!
Hitogaku caught the ball, before he threw it to Tamaki.
And then, Midorima jumped, about to block the shot. But... "He hasn't jumped yet?!"
Then Tamaki jumped, throwing the ball, and hitting Midorima in the process. It went in! Whistle. "Pushing! #5! Chiro! One throw!" the referee said. Midorima stared in shock.
Tamaki made the free throw, and...
"Wah! Four-point play!"
Score, 99-107. 9 minutes and 10 seconds left in the game.
"Alright!" Hitogaku yelled.
"Nice Tamaki," Tetsuya smiled.
"Yay! We're going to win this!" Tamaki exclaimed.
