Chapter 12

As I pushed the door open to Cold Stone, my favourite ice cream shop, the bell rang signalling that a new customer has come in. I walked up to the counter to order a  mint chocolate chip ice cream. When I got to the front of the line I notice the cashier looked bored out of her mind.

"Hi could I get 2 scoops of mint chocolate chip ice cream." I said politely

"That would be $2.99 ma'am." She said in a monotone voice

When I reached out from my wallet I heard someone cleared their throat. Looking up I was surprise to see Daniel.

"Oh! Daniel what are you doing here?" I ask

"Oh I was in the neighborhood until I saw a beautiful lady inside here, and I just had to talk to her." He said

"Well who ever she is she's one lucky girl." I said with grin

"Yeah she is." Daniel said with an emotion on his eyes

"Um ma'am are you gonna pay for your ice cream? Your holding up the line." She asked in a annoyed tone

I didn't realize we were holding up the line until I heard mothers scolding their children to wait and the children whining and crying how they want their ice cream now. I reached out for my wallet until I notice Daniel paying for my ice cream.

"No. I wanted to pay for my ice cream." I whined like the kids at the back of the line

"Now why would I allow a pretty lady like you pay if a handsome man like me can pay for you." He said while moving to the other side of the counter to probably get my ice cream

"Still boastful as always." I muttered to myself

When I moved to the other counter I heard a old lady say to her husband "Oh sweetie, remember when we were like them?"

I was mixing around the melted ice cream in my bowl. Daniel and I sat in silence. It was really peaceful until he opened his mouth.

"Hey V?" I hum in response

"You're so hot it made me melt like that ice cream"

I looked up at him. He had a boyish grin spread across his face. I couldn't help myself; I burst out laughing.

"That was so bad" I manage to say through my laughter

"Oh really? You think you could do better?" He challenges me

"Do you believe in love at first sight? Or do I need to walk by again?" I say

"Roses are red, Violets are blue. I thought Kim Kardashian was sexy, then I met you." He grins

"Knock Knock"

"Who's there?"

"I'd like to Fuck"

"I'd like to Fuck who?"

"I'd like to fuck you" I added a wink at the end. Daniel burst out laughing

"Are you the sun? Cause you light up my world" he grins

"Are you from McDonalds? Cause I'm lovin' it."

"I must be a snowflake cause I've fallen for you"

"Okay, I give up" I laugh

"I win!!!" He said smiling like a kid on Christmas Day.

"Okay but in all seriousness, I have a question for you. There's this event coming up in 2 days and it's usually really boring. You think you could spare me from boredom and come with me?"

I thought about it. I didn't have anything to do on that day. Andrew was going on a date with Naomi, so I would be all alone at home. He's just asking me out as friends right? Right.

"Okay. Sure"
