'Something I don't think I'll ever understand is if there is a god, how can he allow someone to suffer? How can he just let someone who is good suffer? It always seems to be the good people who suffer while the bad people get away with nothing. I guess different people have different definitions of good.'

"James? Are you okay?" Corona knocked on my door. I haven't left my room much since seeing Kingsley in the hospital and that was last week. She's supposed to leave on Friday, four days from today.

"Come in." I put my notebook away and look at the list Kingsley gave me.

"What's that?" Corona sits next to me. "Bucket list?"

"It's Kingsley's. She gave it to me when I saw her at the hospital. She wants me to help her accomplish everything."

"Spend the day at the beach, get a tattoo, cliff dive? This sounds completely different from things you'd do." Corona looks at me.

"But you didn't see her. You didn't see her in the hospital like I did. She looked so weak, so vulnerable. I couldn't just say no. Besides, I want to get to know Kingsley. I think this would be the perfect way to get to know her." I explain.

"Just, be careful. Let's not do anything too risky, yeah? I don't want a repeat of our childhood."

"Believe me, me neither. I don't plan on jumping out of any trees anytime soon." I smile, leaning my head on Corona's shoulder. "Can I join you Friday at the studio?"

"Isn't that when Kingsley's shoot is?" I nod at her question.

"I plan on taking her out to do something on her bucket list after the shoot. I haven't decided what yet."

"Just make sure neither of you get hurt, okay?"

"I promise, Corona."

-

"Those next few days, I planned out exactly what I wanted to do for Kingsley. Number eleven, participate in a color run. I called Kingsley and told her to come to the park on a Twenty-third Street wearing all white on Saturday morning."

-

"Jameson! What in the world is this?" Kingsley asked, walking over to me. "And why are we wearing all white?"

"Number eleven. Color run." I answered, tying my shoes.

"I hope you don't expect me to run this whole thing. I am not athletic at all." Kingsley tugged on her beanie.

"But you wanted to do a color run?" I remark, laughing when she rolls her eyes.

"Don't go telling me how to live my life, peasant." Kingsley crosses her arms.

"Yes, my queen." I bowed, smiling when she laughed.

"Runners get ready! On your mark, get set, go!" And we were off.

-

'We may have been last, but she was happy, and I was happy. Our previously white clothes could put the prettiest rainbow to shame. Corona nearly killed me when she realized she had to take both of us home. Needless to say, I had the pleasure of cleaning the car that afternoon.'

-

"Thank you for today, Jameson. I really needed this." Kingsley smiled, pink dotting her phone as she typed away.

"It's nothing, no need to thank me." I watched her for a second before speaking up again. "Are you coming back to school Monday?"

"For the week. Then I'll be back in the hospital for two weeks. If Corona is fine with it, I'd like it if you would accompany me on Friday for Riley's eighteenth birthday party." I looked at Corona and she nodded.
