( A MISTAKE DOES NOT DEFINE SOMEONE'S WHOLE BEING )
Lately I've been noticing in my Counting Stars book that a lot of "hate" has been directed towards Peter Pettigrew. I get it he betrayed James and Lily to Voldemort but he was scared and terrified, he just did it because he didn't want to die. And you all can say 'oh but Sirius would have rather died than betray his friends to voldemort'
Yes maybe he would, maybe he wouldn't have you never know because his life was never in the line like that. Also you can't blame peter for who he is because let's face it he wasn't really like any of the marauders but everyone seems to forget that he was a marauder.
Through their school years they were like brothers I mean Peter became a animagus too to help Remus. He pulled pranks with them. He didn everything with them.
People always seem to look at everything one person did wrong and overlook the things they did right. But I never hear someone bitch about Sirius when he suspected Remus, one of his goddamn best friends to be the traitor.
I mean Remus and Sirius couldn't stand one another a long time in the First Wizarding war.
And never have I read a comment about how much they bullied for the most part of their first six years at Hogwarts.
But what I did read in the comments when Peter tried to help his friends and my main character said he was a good friend?
HE IS A LIAR
HAHA GOOD FRIEND HE'S CHILLING WITH VOLDEMORT
Don't get me wrong but the silly thing is that if I would be in his position I am pretty sure I would be terrified and we do crazy things when we're scared. So did Peter.
But when he was still in hogwarts he was a good friend. They all became friends for a reason so to go and bitch about him when he was still a kid is just sad.
And in some way I still believe he was one of the most relatable characters.
He searched for friendsships, he wanted to belong somewhere.
He wanted to be like the populair kids
He was easily scared
He wasn't the best looking of all nor the smartest.
A lot of people struggle with these things and I think it made Peter a very realistic character and a good one too.
I get it we want to relate to the heroes but not everyone is meant to be one in a story.
He just made a wrong decision and he couldn't go back.
I mean older Peter was a coward, he lived most of his adult life in fear of one of the darkest wizards of all time and I think it kinda comes with the package after a while.
But young Peter was just an innocent child corrupted by the fear a war caused.
So everyone who hates Hogwarts Peter because of something he is going to do in the future;
