Hello lovelies and welcome to the very first edited chapter of A Story Beyond Wisdom!
Please bear with me for the story will not be the same as it was a few years ago. This will be a lot more serious and the romance will happen gradually. I've watched the series once more to take some notes as well as bend some of its plot, where I can see my OC can fit in.
However, I can't stress enough that there will be flaws in this book including some grammar mistakes that can make you face palm yourself. But, I can promise that the writing will be better but not entirely perfect.
Also, forgive me for I'm not that experienced in writing some action stuff. I know there will be some scenes where action is needed. So, please bear with me. I accept constructive criticism, because obviously, I have so much to improve in writing. And lastly, I thank you for reading this lengthy note and enjoy Collision!

Twenty years ago.

THE PLAYGROUND WAS RATHER empty that day. The skies were gloomy, the air was cold and the silence was quite deafening.
A young six year-old girl sat inside the sandbox, trying to build a hollow castle. She was surrounded by her Barbie dolls, keeping her company whilst playing alone. She scooped a bucket of sand once more, attempting on building another tower for her castle.
She groaned, and scooped once again; but to no avail, it collapsed again. The air blew against her other two towers, knocking them over the sand. The young girl sighed in agony, as she tried building it again. She hugged her jacket closer to her body, protecting it against the cold.
And as her first tower collapsed, she heard a laugh behind her. She casually turned her head towards the source of the noise, only to find a young boy around her age laughing at her. His hair is a mop of black curls, his face is hollow, it's like he's not eating at all, and his frame is slender.
She glowered at the boy then humphed back to her sandcastle. She heard him laugh again, and this time she stood, glaring at the boy.
"What's your problem?" She asked angrily in her tiny voice.
"Nothing." The boy chuckled.
"You're laughing at me," She pointed out, her burning eyes never leaving his.
"It's just—" He tried to say, but he laughed once more.
"Just what?" She placed her tiny hands on her waist, her eyes never leaving his.
The boy tried to stifle his laugh before responding, "You need water to hold the sand together."
The girl's eyes widened as she looked around the playground, scanning for a faucet. She ignored him as she grabbed her bucket and walked towards the nearest faucet. She filled it halfway, then walked back inside the sandbox. This is her isolation. This is her walls and no one is brave enough to join her.
The boy glued his eyes on her, as she scooped sand inside her bucket. As soon as she filled her bucket with sand, she flipped it over then removed the bucket to reveal her sculptured tower. She gasped, then looked at the boy with awe.
"Thank you," She muttered, as boy nodded in reply.
The bell suddenly rang, and as if on cue, little girls and boys rushed towards the playground, noise and laughter filled the air. She was always the weird kid, the quiet girl, the one living with monsters. And truthfully, she doesn't care. She isolated herself from her classmates, distancing herself so that she wouldn't get teased. She has a bad temper, and every kid doesn't want to see her bad side.
She scanned the playground for the boy's messy curls, but she couldn't see him anymore. She sighed, turning her attention back to her sandcastle.
Thanks to that boy, she managed to build the sandcastle she wanted. A few moments have passed when a group of girls approached her box.
She rolled her eyes in disbelief, and ignored their burning gaze. "Having fun?" One spoke, with a shrill, tiny voice.
She didn't answer. "Cat got your tongue?" Another one asked, and she ignored it once more.
They laughed in chorus, as the girl narrowed her eyes furiously. She needs to control her temper before she can hurt anybody. "Come on speak up!" She closed her fist tightly, her gaze burning like an ember.
Suddenly, the group slowly backed away as she stepped outside of her box. "I haven't done anything to you. WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM?!" She bellowed, earning the attention of everyone in the playground.
She doesn't care anymore. No one dares to disturb her isolation. No. One.
"Well, w-w-we..." One of the girls trailed off, then scampered away together with rest of her clique.
"What a wuss." She breathed, then went back to sandbox.
But even before she can go back, a boy blocked her way. Unlike the boy who has a mop of curls, this boy had his hair slicked back with gel and to be honest, he's quite familiar.
"Quite impressive." He remarked, throwing her a look.
She raised an eyebrow. "I don't intend to impress anyone let alone you. Excuse me," She attempted to walk past him, but he blocked her way again.
"Um, excuse me?" She spoke irritatingly.
"Do you even know me?" The boy inquired.
The girl just shrugged. "Well, you're kind of familiar."
"That is because my family owns this school." He stated proudly, his chest puffed out.
The girl chuckled. "That's why. But, I'm not interested."
The boy was about to reply with a snarky remark but the girl was dragged away by her mom. "Come on, Scarlett. It's time to go home."
The girl smirked at him, before coming inside a car driven by her mom. Scarlett. Bright shade of red. Beautiful, yet dangerous.
The name lingered in the boy's brain, and he will make sure they will see each other again.
One way or another.
