You looked over to Cody's sleeping form, watching his body shudder now and then, apparently finding it hard to maintain his regular breathing pattern.

Short breaths filled the room, not just from his mouth, but from yours too. You found your feet began to move, bringing you towards the window. You looked out to the night sky, watching as the stars seemed to move. A smile crept on your face while the cold breeze brushed against your skin. You felt guilty as you turned your gaze towards your husband of three years. Cody had schizophrenia, he had for some time.

Some days he'd be okay and others. Well, they were bad. You promised him over and over that you'd always be by his side. Hence the reason you walked back over, listening to his irregular breathing that continued to fill the room. You sat in the space next to him, your hand finding its way to his side, you gently rubbed it and sighed.

The same thing happened every night. However, when he slept, you couldn't help but feel thankful. Thankful that the demons finally left his mind alone.

The next morning you walked downstairs, cooking in your mind. You heard Cody's footsteps coming down the stairs, your gaze averting to the doorway which he now leaned on.

"Morning Hun." You smiled, walking to him, pecking his cheek softly. He smiled faintly and looked towards you.

"You look tired..." He sighed taking your face gently in his hands, hinting at the massive bags under your eyes. You glanced at his eyes and smiled reassuringly.

"I'm not, I'm all right." Those are words you repeated every day.

He sighed and kissed your lips gently. You smiled and turned back to the table. Cody walked to the door glancing at the calendar.

"You have that doctors appointment today." He smiled.

You looked at him and nodded confidently. "Yeah, just a check up." You smiled.

He looked at you, knowing you were lying to him, he was aware of the reason you were going. Only because, you wanted help for your situation. You'd been going counseling for a while now. You found it hard to help Cody in his situation.

You took the plate of toast and gently slid it across the table. Cody glanced at it and smiled looking at you.

"Thanks, babe."

You looked over and nodded. "Em the band will be round in five then I'll have to leave." You began.

He nodded and walked over embracing you; he kissed you sweetly on the lips. You smiled and kissed him back.
