Chapter 2: Holes and Silence

"What's going on?" I ask uncle Remus as we touch our brooms down on the lawn in front of The Burrow. Everyone else was rushing inside and I could hear Mrs. Weasley fussing at someone from inside.

"Someone's been hit." He says while dropping his broom and running towards the house. I drop mine next to his and sprint after him.

As we near the house I notice Hestia Jones (super fans will know this name), one of the members of the order that was assigned with George, was covered in blood.

Has George been hit? I knew I shouldn't have switched to Uncle Remus, I should've let him go with George.

"Hestia, what happened?" I ask her urgently, sprinting in front of Remus. The young, black-haired woman turned quickly around. I notice her eyes were red and her cheeks blotchier than normal.

"Oh, Rue, I'm so sorry." She told me sadly, her voice cracking slightly.

Uncle Remus pushes past me and storms into the burrow. I follow closely behind him as he grabs a fistful of Harry's, at least a 'Harry's', shirt and hurls him against the wall.

"Remus, what are you doing?" Ginny shouts from the other side of the room.

"What creature sat in the corner the first time that Harry Potter visited my office at Hogwarts!?" Remus shouted at Harry. "Are you mad?" Harry retorts.

"WHAT CREATURE?!" Remus screams at him.

"A Grindylow!" Harry frantically shouts. Lupin releases Harry and turns back around to face everyone else.

Remus's eyes stop on on George's body on the couch. I finally get a good look at him. I notice that there's a lot of blood flowing from where his left ear would have been.

And almost in slow motion, my body willed itself over to the couch and I dropped on my knees. I felt a single tear roll down my cheek as I got a closer look at what they did to him. What Voldemort did.

I will my eyes up to George's and they for a moment. In that moment I felt so anger, so much fear, but I also felt so much security.

"We've been betrayed. Voldemort knew you were being moved tonight. I had to make sure you weren't an imposter." I hear Remus tell my brother.

"Who did this to him?" I ask aloud in a deadly calm voice.

"Snape." Hestia's voice rang clearly throughout the room.

If he ever shows his face to me again. I will kill him. Not slowly. Not quickly. He'll just be gone. Just like that.

George must have felt me tensing because I feel his hand rest softly on mine.

Mrs. Weasley sniffs from above us. "He'll be fine, Molly. But that's Dark Magic. The damage is done." Uncle Remus tells her.

Molly simply nods while continuing to weep and dabs a cloth at the blood on George's face.

Suddenly a deep rumbling sounds and a blue glow glimmers against the windows. Hagrid looks out the door. "Someone else is back."

"I got him, Molly. Get some sleep." I tell the short red-haired woman, who was currently changing George's bandages.

Mrs. Weasley looks up at for a moment and sighs. Then, without a word, she finishes taping the gauze and leaves the room.

Silence takes over as it's just left with me kneeling next to George, who was resting on the couch.

"I still can't believe I said that I was holy." I hear George mutter. I look up at him and meet his warm, chocolate eyes.

"Me neither," I whisper with a small smile. It was silent for a few moments before George began to stir. He patted the area next to him in which he made by scooting up against the back of the couch.

Without a word, I lift my sore legs off the ground and slip under the small blanket that was spread out.

I gently rest my head on his warm chest and he softly grips my waist with the arm that was beneath me.

I wish I could stay like this forever. With no Voldemort. No boy or girl who lived, even though I'm not that big of a deal. No wizards or witches. Just me and George.

Slowly I begin to fell sleep take over me, but before it does I see something.

I see him. I see him with his family.

I see a young Tom Riddle.

He's standing next to him.

Then I see his name.
