Chapter 6

That night we got home a little late, and I knew Qrow wasn't gonna be happy. I also forgot one things.

Tai was back.

When we walked in he was waiting, along with Yang and Qrow. Qrow had a drink in his hand, Shocker right? Yang's leg was bouncing like crazy, and Tai had a look on his face of worry and a little bit of... well... pissieness? Sure, that's a word now.

"Where have you two been?" He said standing up.

Ruby looked worried, "Dad, I-"

"First we left to pick up some supplies so she can help me craft a new weapon. We stopped and I bought her some cookies for her help. Then we stopped by the shop I work at to see if I could help."

"For six hours?" Qrow asked.

"We got caught up by taking down some gang members, who were lead by a ginger pimp and robbing the store. We chased them off and followed their leader. He tried to make an escape and threw a Dust Crystal at us. The dude shot it and I thought we'd get blown up, but a Huntress saved us. We proceeded to try and take him down, he was in an airship mind you. He slid into the cockpit and a lady came out shooting fire from her hands. We got blown back, and they escaped. After that the Huntress brought us to a little room, both separately. Which I don't know what she and them talked about so I'll let Ruby take over."

They looked at her, they were silent so far, but then Yang spoke up.

"Well?" she said.

Ruby took a breath and spoke quickly. "IspoketoProfessorOzpinfromBeaconandheofferedmethechancetogotohisschoolthisyear. I agreedsoYangandIwillbegoingtoschooltogether."

(For those who can't read that, it says. I spoke to Professor Ozpin from Beacon and he offered me the chance to go to his school this year. I agreed so Yang and I will be going to school together.)

They then smiled and had remarks like, 'That's awesome', 'sweet', and my favorite, 'bark, bark.' Take a guess of who that one came from. I smiled as they gave her hugs and told her to go to bed. But she looked at me.

"What did you talk about?"

I smirked, "Let's just say I'll be seeing my team in person tomorrow."

She squealed, "he asked you too?!"

I nodded and looked at her. "You're not the only one who's got skills girl."

Yang giggled at this, and soon so did the rest of them. I chuckled a little as well.

"Well," Qrow said setting his drink down. "I'll be headin out. Good luck you two, well three, get some rest." He ruffled Ruby's hair as he walked out. Tai, Yang, and Ruby started talking, while I followed Qrow out.

"Hey Qrow," I said as he started to walk away. He stopped dead in his tracks and looked at me.

"Yeah kid?"

I smiled at this, "thank you."

"For?"

"Staying with Yang while Ruby and I were in town, letting me sit in on your training session. Letting me sit out when I had that flashback... You're a great guy."

He chuckled and I continued.

"How about I buy a round of drinks next time I see you?"

"Now you're speaking my language."

"Was there ever a time you weren't drinking?"

"The minute I was born, I think my mother was drinking while I breastfed."
