"Niall, open the door."
"Niall, I know you're listening to me. Please let me speak to you."
"You're scaring me, Ni. Please, don't do this to me."
Niall currently was sat down on the toilet pan, his elbows on his knees and running his hands through his hair. Tears were streaming down his face. He was too afraid to face Liam, knowing fine well what he wanted. And that wasn't what was growing inside him right now.
"I'm just gonna wait here, okay? You're gonna have to come out sometime." Liam sighed, sitting down, cross-legged on the soft carpet in front of the door. But Niall didn't come down. Instead, Niall had built some sort of den around the toilet with old towels and blankets as the morning sickness had started to kick him. Liam and Niall had both fallen asleep at some point in the evening that it wasn't around until six thirty in the morning that Liam woke up, hearing Niall vomit.
Liam winced at the sound, wanting nothing more to bang down the door to see his husband. Liam sighed, resting his head against the wall, waiting patiently. "Niall...please. I'm desperate. I wanna talk to you. I'm sorry I offended you, I was...I was angry." Liam begged and Niall whimpered a little. He couldn't face Liam. He was to scared. He didn't want to:
"Niall, I'm gonna phone Harry, okay? You'll listen to him, won't you? He'll talk to you." Liam decided, bringing out Nialls phone which he still had in his pocket. He really didn't want to have to bring Harry into this again but desperate times calls for desperate measures. This was him being desperate.
Nialls head snapped up. No, he didn't want Harry. All he wanted was Liam. Why couldn't Liam see that? Liam was blinded by his hatred for what Niall was doing that he didn't see the good side of it. They were still going to have kids. They were going to raise two gorgeous kids and that was what they always wanted. It was that simple. Except it wasn't.
Sometime later, he heard an extra pair of feet outside the door, followed by Harry's deep voice. "Niall, are you okay? Liam told me everything." Harry started and Nialls stomach churned. How dare he. How dare Liam. "I'm fine." Niall snapped and there was a pause. "You're saying 'fine' like you wanna kill someone." Harry pointed out and Niall couldn't help smirking.
"Yeah, it's Liam I wanna kill." Niall admitted and Harry chuckled, followed by a glare from Liam. Harry's face suddenly became serious again. "Look, Niall, I've had a little chat with Liam over the phone and I've tried to reason things with him. I told him the exact same thing he told you. About how he's gonna feel if you went through that abortion. I told him he's gonna lose the kids and he doesn't want that. Please, Niall. I know you love him. You don't have to be scared." Harry persuades and Niall sniffed.
"Harry, I'm a pregnant man who's going to birth to two babies in the space of nine months. How can I not be scared about that?" Niall challenged and Harry sighed. "You have us. You have Liam." Harry answered simply and Liam smiled weakly. Niall stood up, hesitantly walking forward to open the door. Liam stood against the wall, eyes sore and red from crying. Harry looked determined and tough, waiting patiently for Niall. He beamed when he saw him and Liam ran toward him, embracing him for a hug.
"Don't scare me like that again, okay?" Liam sighed, cupping his face and Niall gave a silent nod before thanking Harry. "Wait, it's six thirty in the morning. What the hell are you doing here?" Niall frowned and Harry chuckled. "Louis has a girl over and you told me that Niall was upset, so...yeah." Harry shrugged, sinking his hands in his jeans pockets.
Liam smiled, silently thanking Harry from behind Niall but Harry brushed him off with a wave of his hand. "I'll see you out, Harry." Liam nodded toward the stairs and he guided Harry down them, leaving Niall alone but he followed after them. "Thanks for taking care of Niall, Harry. I really appreciate it. It's just...strange he listens to you and not me." A pang of guilt washed over Niall as he listened to their conversation.
"Don't worry, Niall loves you. Too much, I might add. He loves you enough to have your babies." Harry teased and Liam chuckled. "Thanks again, Harry."
"You're welcome, any time." Liam closed the door and turned round, seeing Niall standing at the foot of the stairs as they were waiting. "Come on, you. Sit down." Liam demanded and Niall frowned. "What?"
"Sit down, lie down and feet up. I'm taking care of you from now on." Liam assured him, guiding Niall to the sofa and putting his feet up and throwing a blanket over him. "Liam, I'm pregnant, not dying." Niall joked half-heartily and Liam froze, followed by an awkward pause. Liam shook his head and Niall sighed, feeling even guiltier. He raised a palm to his forehead as he watched Liam disappear, feeling like a complete idiot.
"Just let me know if you need anything, okay?" Liam smiled and Niall nodded, feeling at ease. When Niall closed his eyes to take a nap, Liam rested himself in the armchair and watched Niall sleep, turning the TV down to mute. His smile faded as he watched him and soon after, he dozed off and joined Niall in a deep sleep.
When he woke up, Niall was still fast asleep. He silently crept out the room, grabbing his jacket, keys and wallet as he did so and headed out the door. He grabbed what he could at the shopping centre and pharmacy before heading back quickly before Niall woke up.
As soon as Liam was home, he dumped the bags in the kitchen and tossed his jacket aside and headed into the kitchen. Niall was still fast asleep, curled up on the sofa with his mouth parted. Liam was about to head into the kitchen when Niall groaned in his sleep and soon, his eyes started to flutter open.
"Liam?" Niall mumbled and Liam was by his side in seconds with one of the bags. "What did you get?" Niall slurred, his Irish accent thick from slept. "The woman- at the pharmacy- she recommended this." Liam explained, handing Niall a packet of ginger biscuits, an acupressure bracelet, and a few anti-sickness. "Liam, I don't think jewellery is gonna help me right now." Niall sniffed, looking miserable as he eyed up he bracelet.
Liam couldn't help chuckling as he put it on Nialls wrist. "Niall, it's an acupressure bracelet. It's suppose to reduce morning sickness." Liam explained and realisation dawned on Nialls face before tears started to roll down his cheeks.
Liam was taken aback, stunned by Nialls sudden change of personality. "Niall, why are you crying? If you don't like it that much you-"
"Oh, that's so thoughtful of you. It's so nice." Niall sobbed, pulling Liam for a hug, making him grunt a little. "What...you like the bracelet?" Liam asked uncertainly and Niall giggled. "Liam, I love it." Niall sniffed, pulling back.
"Then why are you crying?" Liam frowned. "I don't know, but I'm just...really emotional." Niall sniffed and Liam chuckled. "You don't say." Liam teased and Niall punched his arm playfully. "It's probably those hormonal levels Dr Baxter was talking about earlier." Liam suggested and Niall sighed. "Must be a good thing, if it's started that early." Niall shrugged and Liam nodded in agreement.
"And you've got another nine months to look forward to with this." Niall added with a mischievous grin and Liam chuckled. "And I can't wait." He beamed, kissing Niall on the cheek but his face fell a little as he pulled Niall in for anther comforting hug. What if something happened within those nine months? All Liam could do was pray that he still got his Niall back at the end of this.
