It was 10 at night and I was closing up my dad's surfboard shop which was up the hill the beautiful view of the ocean right ahead. Looking around I notice it's pretty empty for a Friday night; Only a few teens hanging around. When I look closer to my left I notice the guy who's always in the same spot and time everyday.
His spot was under the walkway; a bridge that went a few hundred feet into the ocean. He sat right under it everyday, alone. He sat under it from around 4 in the afternoon till god knows what time. No, I'm not a stalker, but I'm at the beach working almost everyday and I see him. I've always wanted to go up to him and talk and ask him why he's always alone but I usually come out of work too tired to do anything more than just go home and sleep.
But tonight is a different story, I feel tired but not too tired. It's Friday night and work wasn't tiring since dad was around to help. Let's just say I took advantage of that because I'm usually the man in charge, so I decided to be lazy around the shop after all. After double checking that I locked everything up I picked up my bag from the floor and made my way down the sand to where the guy was sitting.
When I got close enough I noticed he was around my age which was 17, so he was young. He was probably a year or two older if I'm not mistaking. He was carrying this pensive look as he stared into the ocean. I don't think he noticed my presence because he didn't even bat an eye. He resembled a statute. Sitting next to him a little too close if I say so myself I stare out into the ocean as well. He still hadn't moved or gave me any importance. I didn't say anything just relished the clean breeze that came every second or so and the cute guy next to me.
A few minutes later the guy still hadn't moved or said a word so I decided to do it instead.
"So, I work up at the surfboard shop, which also sells other things besides surfboards and I've noticed you sit here all the time, alone." I say out to no one but directing it to him. He still didn't say a word just blinked and ignored me.
"I'm Axel by the way, how about you?" I ask him as I turn and look at him, well his side. Looking at him from the side I notice he is absolutely beautiful. I think he's deaf to me since he still hasn't acknowledged me. Checking the time I breath in and stand up, in the process of dusting the sand off my shorts and sandals I fall down.
"Stupid sandals" I argue by myself groaning annoyingly.
Once I'm sandless once again I pick up my bag and look up at the boy who still hasn't moved. Not even to laugh at me because I fell on my butt.
"I guess I'll see you around than" I said walking away heading home.
First chapter which came out of nowhere. This story will be short as well as the chapters as you see. I came up with the story idea I believe last night? I don't really know, but I do know that I wanted to write a short boyxboy story. Anywho, let me know what you think about it so far.
