Possession

Her eyes were glued on the clock before her, but she wasn't aware of the time. She had been sitting like this for hours, feeling numb and worthless. She was at war with her own mind.

"Are you ever going to tell me what he said that made you so upset?"

Hunter flinched at the sudden sound of his voice as if it could do any damage to her. She turned her head in his direction but didn't make eye contact.

"I'm not upset," her voice was dead, showing no emotion. And if Liam wasn't so concerned, he would've found her answer amusing.

Liam tilted his head to the side, "well, you've been acting strange," he said.

Hunter rolled her eyes and looked up at him, "I'm not. You're acting strange."

"Hunter come on," Liam said annoyed, "you and I both know you are. Ever since you received that phone call, you haven't spoken a word these past two days."

Hunter looked down at the ground and closed her eyes as she tried to calm herself down. She felt like she was going to burst out of anger anytime now.

"Shut up about that phone call," she spoke.

Liam couldn't help but smile, "seems that I was right all along," he said. "I'm going out for a bit, please don't kill yourself when I'm gone," Liam joked, but Hunter didn't think it was funny.

"You think that's funny? What kind of asshole are you?" Hunter spat and stood up.

"Asshole?" Liam questioned angry, his voice low and raucous. "Don't you dare disrespect me in my own house Hunter. You've already done that once. I'm not taking any more of your bullshit," he said while he took multiple steps closer to her. He was a lot taller than her which almost made him intimidating.

Hunter looked up at him and clenched her fists, "what are you going to do about it?"

Liam couldn't believe his own ears, "excuse me?"

"You heard me," Hunter said as a smirk made its way onto her face. But then before she could comprehend what was happening, she got slammed against the wall.

She groaned out in pain when she suddenly felt two hands wrap around her throat. Her eyes widened as she looked at Liam in shock.

"What are you--" she managed to say before his grip on her neck got tighter.

"Tell me what happened," Liam demanded. Liam could feel her heartbeat racing against the palm of his hands when he suddenly realized what he was doing. He immediately let go of her neck as he looked down at her in panic.

Hunter slid down the wall as she sat down on the ground. Black spots covered her vision and she was feeling dizzy as hell. She couldn't process what happened.

"Plea.." Hunter tried to talk but the lack of oxygen prevented her from doing so.

Liam dropped down on his knees in front of her, "I don't know what got into me. I couldn't control myself anymore.." he tried to grab her hand but she didn't let him.

Hunter looked up at him, "please leave."

Liam's head shot up, "this is my house."

Hunter closed her eyes, "fine."

Hunter stood up and leaned against the wall for support. "I made a huge mistake," she said, her breathing still heavier than it should be.

"What is it?" Liam said in a tone Hunter couldn't stand.

"It's you Liam. It was a mistake calling you and going back home with you that night," Hunter said while she crossed her arms over her chest.

Liam looked at her in disbelief, "since when did you become so ungrateful? You probably learned that from that Ryan guy huh?"

Hunter's eyes shot down at her phone on the coffee table and the regret started kicking in right after.

It's been two days since it all happened. The fight with Ryan, the phone call, Bam's confession... Ryan must be so worried, Hunter hasn't made any effort to respond to the hundreds of text messages he send.

Hunter felt like kicking herself for her head. She had been acting so fucking stupid lately, and the only one to blame was her.

"Shut up about Ryan. He did so many things for me after you cheated on me--," Hunter said.

She could see Liam getting angry again but she didn't stop talking.

"He took care of me, took me into his house without even hesitating once."

Hunter let out a sigh and shook her head as she looked at Liam, "I blame myself for running back to you. I shouldn't have done that."

Liam let out a low growl and put his hand on the wall so he was towering over her, "you belong to me Hunter. We deserve each other," he said.

Hunter looked up at him. She wanted to scream and yell that he was wrong, that he didn't deserve her. But she couldn't.  She had been an ass to everyone. To herself, to Ryan... and mostly to Bam. It hurt her to even think of that name. She could literally feel her heart break into a million pieces whenever she thought back at that moment.

Bam had declared her love for her and all she did was hang up.

"You're wrong Liam. I don't belong to you," she said as she pushed him away from her.

"I belong to someone else."

Liam clenched his jaw, "Hunter, you're talking bullshit."

"No Liam," Hunter spat angrily, "I don't belong to you and I never will. There's one person I belong to and you are the one who finally made me realize that..."

Hunter started breathing heavily again and her heart started racing. "I belong to Bam Margera," she said, almost whispering.

Neither one of them spoke after that but Hunter knew all she had to do now was leave. She stormed out of Liam's apartment, taking all the little stuff she had with her.

Liam, who was still trying to figure everything that happened, tried to run after her. But it was no use, she was way ahead already.

"You won't get rid of me this easily Hunter!" He yelled after her but she tried to ignore him.

Liam frowned and slammed the door shut behind him, breaking a vase or two when he walked inside again.

"I'll do anything in my power to get her back.."
