"Vaira, focus! You're to jittery!" Magnus instructed.
"I'm trying!" She shouted and the ball of energy went flying and crashed into a wall. "I can't focus when you're screaming in my ear, so just back off a bit!" Vair exclaimed then took a deep breath.
"A little." She smiled. It had been a few days since she woke up. They had been working together non-stop.
"Come on, try it again."
"I don't know how to do this. You said I have to find another anchor, but I have nothing left."
"Maybe just the thought of your brother would work." He suggested.
"No, no, no! That's what's messing me up. Every time I use magic the image of him dying flashed through my head and that's what sets me off."
Magnus walked closer to her placing his hands on her shoulders. "Focus on me then."
"Focus on me. Just breath and watching me." He was completely serious. She could see it in his eyes. What was this about? He didn't really seem like the type of guy to be nice to some stranger. What was his deal?
Magnus took a few steps back and keeping eye contact, Vaira tried it again. The steam of power seemed steadier this time. The movements were fluid and strong. It was working.
"Looks like step one is complete. Good job." Magnus clapped his hands together in congratulations.
"Don't treat me like a child. I may be one in your case, but in mine I'm finally nineteen."
"I don't see you as a child." He shook his head with what seemed to be an almost sad expression plastered on his face.
"How did you know that would work?"
"I didn't. So you must trust me enough fo-"
"I don't trust anyone. That's how you get yourself hurt."
"That's the only way that would have worked, but hey what would I know." Magnus raised his hands in surrender.
"I know who you are, I know who we are. Given the chance to get the uper hand in any situation we would cross each other without even giving it a second thought."
He crept closer to her, his eyes never leaving hers. "I guess that shows you don't really know me then... or yourself for that matter."Magnus was now face to face with Vaira.
Feeling his sudden closeness she looked away. "I-I don't know wh-what you're t-talking about."
His hand raised and gently turned her head to face him. Vaira's eyes flashed a crimson red as they stared into his. "I think you do."
Magnus's eyes flickered from her eyes to her lips both subconsciously leaning in.
As soon as the soft skin of their lips touched it felt like magic. They parted quickly after and gazed into each other's eyes.
Magnus then attacked her lips with a hungry and passionate kiss. Vaira gripped her arms around his neck as his hands pulled her legs up around his waist.
Vaira started to kiss down Magnus's jaw to hid neck making him shudder as he made his way to the bedroom. She nipped and sucked at the tender skin on the crook of his neck. A small quiet moan left his lips before he dropped her down to his bed, climbing on top of her. Their lips once again met in a rough kiss.
Vaira slowly unbuttoned every last button on his shirt before running her hand up Magnus's very muscular chest.
Magnus started to slip the straps, of the black dress she was wearing, off her shoulders. Once it had been completely slipped off she was left in only her underwear.
He pulled back and looked her up and down.
"What is it?" She asked starting to feel a little exposed.
"You're just so beautiful..." He sighed and their lips met in one more amazingly passionate kiss and the night went on from there.
(Sorry if that seemed a little sudden. I couldn't think of any other way to do it.)
