They marched her into the Institute practically flaunting her off to everyone as they took her to a holding room.

"What's going on here? Who is this?" Another man asked sternly, walking into the room. He was tall with dark black raven like hair, brown eyes, and the same runes branded into his skin.

"She's a warlock. We found her in an ally with three dead Shadowhunters along with her brother. She claims that they attacked her and her brother without any cause or reason. The brother didn't make it through the fight." The Hunter recited like it had been some kind of report.

They stepped just outside the door to speak about this farther.

"There is no way someone her size could have taken down three of us on her own." Alec said.

"I'm not sure of what really happened, we came in after. Never saw a thing, but when she said that she killed them she said she thought she did. She wasn't positive."

"How is that possible? You know what? I'm just gonna talk to her myself."

"I'd give her a moment to herself. Her twin brother was just murdered right in front of her."

"According to what she said. She could have just wanted to get into the Institute. Ever think of that?"

"Fine, go right ahead."

Alec almost burst through the door and sat down in a chair across a table from her.

"What's your name?" He asked.

She looked up at him tears no longer in her eyes. She was not going to show them any weaknesses. It just wasn't an option.

"My name is Vaira Ekaterina." She said, her thick accent throwing him off for a moment.

"I'm Alec Lightwood. What happened out there?"

"My brother and I were just simply talking when they showed up and started talking like they were apart of the circle at one point. They wouldn't let us leave and they made the first move."

"Now, for some reason I just can't believe that. Those were good men-"

"Then maybe you should have told them that. What Jarek and I did was a matter of self defense. They breached the accords and my brother died because of it. I think you need to rethink your defenition of being a 'Good man'."

"I am sorry for your loss, but I am still going to have to ask you a few more questions." His tone softened. "How did you manage to kill them?"

"I don't know. I remember seeing my brother laying on the ground the next thing I know I was over holding him in my arms and they were all dead."

"You blacked out?"

"If that's what you want to call it." She snapped.

"Unfortunately, I don't believe the Clave will accept your answer so as soon as I tell them I'm almost positive they will want to hold a trial."

"So here's an idea, don't tell them."

"You killed three people! Three sons! Two husbands! They had familles!"

"And they killed my twin brother who was my only family! My mother was murdered by your kind in the Uprising too! How much more can I give up to you damn Shadowhunters?! I have lost everything! So don't try and make me feel guilty and this may mak...

"And they killed my twin brother who was my only family! My mother was murdered by your kind in the Uprising too! How much more can I give up to you damn Shadowhunters?! I have lost everything! So don't try and make me feel guilty and this may make me seem like a monster, but I am not sorry!" She screamed.

"You're right, that made seem like exactly what you are. A monster. That's all your kind is, isn't it?"

"Take that back or-" Vaira struggled against the cuffs around her wrists.

"Looks like you can't do much of anything right now."

"You stupid Shadowhunters are the real monsters here. You think you're doing the right thing, but your really all just murderers!" She said standing up and getting in his face. "So, no I did not mean to kill them, but I also do not feel bad about that either." Suddenly the only light bulb lighting the room shattered and the room went dark.

What was that? She thought to herself.
