Harry's POV:
In the end, we were all just humans, drunk on the idea that love, and only love could heal our brokeness. I stare at the bright red graffiti on the brick wall, willing it to burn itself on my eyelids. It was a fantastic quote, some of the deepest shit I had ever heard. And I found myself relating. Or it could be the alcohol in my system making me soft.
I put out the cigarette that I had been holding. The ash on my fingers rubs off as I pull my hand through my hair. Slowly, it dawns on me that I have things to do. I need to call Jade. I can just imagine her, struggling to stay strong as she stares at her blank phone. The thought almost makes me laugh, but not in a sadistic way. It feels nice to be needed, especially by someone as beautiful as her.
Zayn. I couldn't believe he was in her house, just "hanging out". That's not the way Zayn works, he is calculating and cold. I remember when he stepped out, seeing Jade and I together. Fear immediately positioned itself in my brain as I stared at his familiar face. If only I could tell her. But no, the object was to keep her safe. It's her fault for getting involved with me and all my shit.... Her fault. Her fault. Yes, it's her fault. I won't call her then.
I can hear Louis as he rounds the corner, looking for me. Suprisingly, he's not wasted. He comes closer to me, his face a picture of concern.
"Harry? What are you doing out here, the girls are in there." He motions lazily to the bar across the street.
I laugh along with my best friend, but there's no happiness in my laugh anymore. I am empty, totally empty. "I'll be in in a minute." I answer, tracing the tattoo on my wrists.
Louis knows, though, something's wrong. And usually, he leaves me alone about it, but I guess this time is different. "What is it mate, that girl?"
"Her name is Jade." I shoot back.
He throws up his hands in surrender. "Alright, alright. She's got you whipped man, I get it."
"No, I don't think you do. You've never been brought down by any girl."
Louis throws back his head and chuckles. "Ya, and neither have you man. You used to be Harry, the player. What happened, you haven't gotten laid in days?"
"What about Fi?" I try desperately to grasp at straws.
"Aye, you know Fiona doesn't count." Louis claps my shoulder. "Let's just go back in there, eh?"
I push him away. "I said no the first time. I gotta go." I shove past him, walking down the alleyway and into the busy street.
A car honks, but I keep walking, my mind hazy and disorientated. I drank too much. Slowly, I make my way up the sidewalk, stumbling as I go. Jade is the only though that enters my clouded state.

Jade's POV:
I find Marcus on the curb, his frame shaking with sobs. I've never seen him cry like this.
"Mo?" I use my nickname I used to call him back in grade school. Involuntarily, my arms wrap around his strong back, trying to comfort him.
He looks up, anger suddenly taking over his features. "Jesus, Jade! Where the hell have you been?" He starts to get louder. "That's why mom left! To look for you."
