"Cause every little thing's gonna be alright."

"Is everything okay?" Hannah spluttered once Dylan stepped into the room, his hair thoroughly run through after numerously being combed with his sweaty hands. Jace noticed his demeanor, immediately knowing the news was not positive.

"Um, the operation didn't go exactly how they planned, they had to perform a transfusion because of the blood loss but his body rejected it."

Tears stung Hannah's eyes. Why did nothing ever go to plan in my life? She couldn't help but think the world genuinely hated her. Jace took Diana off her as she sat numbly staring at her fingers.

"But what's he like right now? Is he okay?!"

"Well with this hemolytic reaction, they're treating it with antihistamines and he's just sleeping. He should be okay but they're not sure until he's awake." No one really fully understood what Dylan really meant but they took out the words "treating", "sleeping" and "okay" and just hoped it wasn't just optimism blocking out the negativity.

"This is a mess." Hannah rubbed at her face, feeling the tightness behind it and wishing she could sleep her problems away but knew that it was only temporary and she was going to wake up to be slapped in the face with everything once more.

"Are we allowed to see him?" Louis asked, Dylan shaking his head as they all sighed.

"We're going to get kicked out soon. I can't afford to come back and visit him tomorrow." Hannah let out a frustrated cry, tears dribbling from her eyes pathetically, her cheeks raw from the constant rubbing from her scratchy dry hands.

"Don't be silly, I'll pay for you to visit him every day until he's home with you again." It stung for Louis to call a place home which wasn't with him. He wanted home to be back in London where he would tease her for being too small for the cupboards and chasing the kids around the rooms where they'd hide behind the sofas and doors. He wanted home where he'd wake up every day with her curled beside him snuggling into the thick duvet yet moaning about it being too hot. He wanted home where Hannah was but was too afraid to admit it.

"I can't let you do that for me. And I need to work, I can't take so many days off. And Lucas, fuck I completely forgot about Lucas."

The men looked down sympathetically, watching Hannah's life tear apart even more, no matter how much they seemed to try and mend it, it always seemed to fall apart. They didn't want to mention that they weren't staying here forever and that their itinerary mentioned a departure back to London in five days time. The thought of going for another ski seemed crazy as all they wanted was their friend to be happy. They couldn't extend their days because they had work-- well Louis probably could.

"I'm sorry to inform you but visiting hours are coming to a close." A nurse popped her head into the room, a sad smile on her face when she noticed the spot where a bed should be.

They all nodded, standing as they made their way down the corridors towards the main exit. Dylan refused when Hannah offered to take off his jumper, telling her that his coat was warm enough. She informed them that a bus should be coming soon but Louis insisted on getting a taxi which is what they got, soon all sat at the back of a large taxi which accommodated the six of them. Louis wrapped an arm around Hannah when she fell asleep, her head falling onto his shoulder and he couldn't help but inhale the familiar scent and give her body a small squeeze to remind himself that this was still the same Hannah he had fell in love with those years back. No matter how much weight she lost or how much sadness she gained, she is still the Hannah he loves and he couldn't shake away the feelings no matter how hard he tried.

They brought Hannah and the kids back to the hotel, Louis carrying Hannah, Jace with Diana whilst Dylan held Dalton. They decided on Jace and Dylan's room seeming as Avery wouldn't be overly pleased with three uninvited guests in her room. He tucked Hannah on the bed, making sure to not tuck her in too tightly and also making sure the duvet was pulled up until her chin was covered. He pressed a kiss onto her forehead, letting his lips linger for a few seconds longer and sighing when he finally pulled away, tucking strands of hair behind her ears. He fussed over her for too long, Jace tugging at his arm pressing that if he kept tucking and untucking her hair she'd wake up. Louis sighed, standing and checking on the two kids, their favourite toys tucked under their armpits as they snored quietly.

"I'll come here in the morning, if anything happens give me a call." Louis tells the two as he made his way to the door. Jace simply nodded, retreating to the small bathroom to get ready for bed. Dylan followed him to the door, opening the door and allowing streams of light to creep into the room.

"What you did today Louis, that was great. I'm sure Hannah really appreciated it no matter the outcome."

"Thanks Dylan." Louis forced a smile, eyes widening when Dylan chose to hug him, awkwardly patting his back when he released.

Louis returned to his room, patting down the walls until he found the bathroom, switching on the light and entering the small room. He rubbed at his tired face as he glanced at his growing facial hair, deciding to shave it another day as he was exhausted. He chugged down a glass of water along with his two pills before brushing his teeth and changing so that he was comfy and ready for bed. He went over to his bed, lifting the duvet and finally letting his head touch the pillow and shutting his eyes, wanting to forget the events of today.

"Louis?"

"Ave? I thought you were sleeping?"

"Where were you today?"

"I was just out, visiting Hannah and stuff."

"I called her parents to tell her she was here."

"What?! Why? They don't need to know!"

"They're worried about her."

"You can't just do that without asking her? She doesn't want her parents to know about what's going on, they kicked her out remember?"

"They deserve to know Louis, they're still her parents. How would you have felt if you never got to see Dalton again?"

Louis sighed, the effects of his medication finally taking their toll and allowing him to sleep peacefully. He fell fast asleep before lips touch lips gently before retreating quickly in fear that he would wake up.
