Intense Forty-seven

PERV’S POV

“We’re here!”, sigaw ni mom. I hold hon’s hand and tug her on my side. I embraced her after. Together we enjoyed what we saw.

All can see is the face of the mountain that is colored by yellow-green background of grass and scattered colors of many flowers all over the field. The tress are of different sizes. There are small ones, which I can tell as mahogany trees and the medium ones are of different kinds and I can’t tell what are their kinds. But the tall ones, I can’t definitely tell what kind of tree are they. They’re pine trees.

What a beautiful scenery! Parang impossible pero talagang nakikita ko eh so I must believe it nalang.

“It’s good thing to know that they haven’t touched this part of the city just yet”, nabulalas ko nalang, Napalingon naman si mom sa akin na nakangiti.

“They can’t actually do that, son”, sabi niya sabay pat sa braso ko at kinuha ang picnic basket namin na nasa loob pa ng kotse.

“Let me, my Lady”, sabi ni Jims at siya na angh kumuha ng mga picnic namin in my mother’s stead. Tas ayun, inabot naman yun ni mom. She thanks Jims and smiled at him. Jims returned her smile. And signaled na rest of the PSGs to roam around and secure the area.

“Why can’t they touch this place mom?” natanong ko sa kanya out of curiousity. They must have the power to have this place a good use.

“Because you’re dad will be furious”, sabi niya.

I looked down to see her and she’s smiling. This might be the first time na nakakita siya ng gantong picture ng scenery in person.

Lumingon si mom sa banda ko and she brushed her hair and lock it behind her ears. “Your dad own this place. One of his properties”, sabi niya at pinagpatuloy ang ginagawa niya.

“Mom, let me help you po”, sabi niya at tinulungan niya si mom na iset-up .yung picnic place namin. Naiwan lang ako, I moved a few steps closer. In put my hands inside my kaki slacks pocket. I opened the first three buttons of my white three-forth shirt. Ang sarap kase ng simoy ng hangin. I inhaled the cold breeze of the wind and fill my lungs with the cool air.

Sometimes I forgot how rich I am, how rich we are. My family never bragged in public how rich we are. We live a simple life, forget about our money although every hour, our family’s bank account acquired additional a hundred thousand bucks. Money is not really a big deal to us, and besides, sponsor si dad ng almost fifty charities.

My family never work so hard  just to be rich, or just to be the richest individuals here on earth. Masipag lang sila and they love to work. That’s just it. As long as we can  provide of bbuy what we need and want, okay na sa amin yun.
