So far, everything was okay. There was something about her boyfriend and her dad bonding on what type of muffler a 3rd series Mustang carried that had her smiling

She looked at Dean lovingly as he laughed and then she rubbed her thumb over his knuckles and he smiled before he nodded to the question her dad had just asked him. He turned to her and kissed her forehead making her blush

Then as a comfortable silence fell over the table, this was the moment she feared.

"So Dean, are you mentally stable now?" Her mom asked

Evelyn gasped and held Dean's hand in a vice grip

Dean looked up and was shocked and hurt

"Cuz we all know you're a lunatic." She continued shoving her fork into her mouth

Evelyn secretly hoped she swallowed it so she'd stop talking

"I mean, I wouldn't want you to have a mad fit and find my daughter dead with you out of the country." She overstepped

"MOM!"
"STEPHANIE!"

Both Evelyn and Paul echoed at the same time

Dean calmly wiped his mouth

"Mrs. Levesque, I love your daughter and I'd kill anyone who tried to hurt her, even myself, I would say don't worry, she's safe with me, but that wouldn't help, so maybe I should just be going." Dean said in such a polite voice

"Eve, walk Dean out," her dad said grabbing her mom's hand and dragging her out the room

It was a silent walk from the kitchen to the door. And when Dean went to open the door a vice grip tightened on his wrist

"I'm sorry." Her voice cracked

He immediately turned around to see the love of his entire life crying.

He shook his head violently and wiped her tears

"No no baby girl, it's alright, I'm used to the comments remember, don't worry. I love you okay princess?" He said kissing her forehead then her lips

"Promise?" She whispered

He smiled slowly and held out his pinky finger

"Promise." He replied then walked out the door after kissing her once more

As soon as he left she angrily turned on her heels

"I'm sorry baby." Her dad apologized

"He was a good kid." He continued

Evelyn's head snapped up

"Really?" Evelyn said in shock

Her dad chuckled and nodded

"Now get some rest babe, it's late," her dad said in his parental voice. She nodded and ran upstairs
