Robin POV

"You wanted to see me," I spoke softly as I stood at her door way nervously picking at my back pack straps.

"Come in and close the door," she spoke as she continued to scroll through her computer.

I closed the door behind me and sat on the chair facing her desk. I watched her carefully as she finished up on the computer, clicking away with her flawless manicure. Her office was full with a few open and un open boxes as she seemed to be getting settled in. I tried to calm my nerves as my palms were already beginning to feel sweaty. My heart hadn't stopped racing ever since she called me while I was out with Joe. I felt bad that I had ended our small date early but I feared what Stacey would do if I hadn't come on time.

She finally finished up what she was doing on the computer, she turned to face me as she crossed her arms resting her arms on the wooden table. She wore a cream sleeveless blouse with black work pants as she seemed very well put together. Her blonde her was in a very neat ponytail showing her facial features even more. I had to admit she was very beautiful. The light make up made me feel even more inferior as this was Joe's ex wife.

"So let's get to know each other shall we?" She started as she had a sinister smirk plastered on her face.

"Sure," I responded trying my best not to sound to intimidated by her.

"So like I said on the phone I am now your counselor so you won't be under your old counselors roster anymore. I have all your file right here which has your contact information, school records, health records, and all things Robin Fenti." She explained as she opened my file skimming through the pages.

Well that explains how she got my number.

I watched as she skimmed through the papers on her desk as I was worried of what she might have found.

"You know when I first opened your file I didn't know what to expect," she continued as she stopped looking through the papers leaning back on her leather chair crossing her legs.

"But when I found out that you had came here on scholarship and was home schooled most of the time got me even more curious. Joe doesn't really surround himself with .... introverts ." She stated the last word more to herself as she was trying to find the right word to describe me. I could feel my heart pounding against my chest even more as I couldn't believe this was actually happening.

"I guess I'm just trying to see what he sees in you," she spoke softly as her voice almost laced with envy as she glared at my appearance.

"But there was something very odd about your file. You don't really have much of a family background listed in your file. You don't have any contact information listed for any relatives or any emergency contact. Why is that?" She asked curiously as she furrowed her dark eyebrows looking at me with her piercing blue eyes as she was trying to figure me out.

My heart was racing as I hadn't expected to answer that question. I knew she was a smart woman so I couldn't think of a cover story on the spot or she would be able to pick it apart and expose me as a liar.

Think.

"Well? Where is your family?" She asked again waiting for my answer.

"They died!" I blurted before I could stop myself.

"Died?" She asked skeptically.

"Yeah," I replied not wanting to say anymore. She stared at me as if trying to figure out whether or not I was telling her the truth. I just hoped for my sake she believed my horrible lie.
