The song above is Halsey - Castle. It's fitting for the first part of the chapter and the photo to the side is of the lovely and sexy Stephen James who plays .... Julien. *Sigh..*

The alarm blaring in my ear had me picking my head up groggily as I pried my eyes open, blurry objects surrounding me as I looked around, the sun glaring a harsh light into my eye.

"Shiit!" I hissed, my head pounding as the bright morning light stared back at me through open windows.

Those biitches...

I smacked the alarm clock on the side of my bed, pill bottles falling to the floor as I tried to shut off the sound. It was so loud it could wake the dead. It wasn't one of those blissful alarm clocks. No, instead my friends got me one for my birthday as a gag gift, since I have a hard time waking up in the morning. This alarm sounds like the end of the world - like one of those nuclear alarms.

Zombie apocalypse was the first thing to come to mind.

I groaned once the hideous sound ceased and silence surrounded me. Falling into the pillows, I pressed my palms into my eyes to block the light as I took some deep breaths to settle my stomach. Every Sunday night, if I decide to drink, the girls open my windows so the sun is shining right on me, knowing I would have to get up and close the curtains.

I guess they aren't such biitches. They looked out for me, Tess and Maya did anyways. Eve could care less. She didn't participate in the 'Bring Jade home' ritual.

Hauling myself up out of the bed slowly, I groaned again as my stomach lurched from the contents that still lingered from last night.

The party on Saturday night had triggered some emotional memories for me and by Sunday, I was ready to drink again to forget about it. Maya had talked with me a little, and she knew I was going to go out whether she came with me or not.

Maya and Tess wound up going with me to Jason's, where all the cool kids usually wound up on a Sunday night. Thankfully, Tyler wasn't there, he was too busy cleaning up from the party the night before to bother with coming to Jason's.

The last thing I remembered last night was playing truth or dare. I was dared to drink three more shots and that was then everything went black and here I was, waking up in my bed at six a.m. on Monday morning.

Sighing, I got up and headed to the bathroom, throwing up a few times before getting in the shower and readying myself for school. I was pretty used to hangovers now, so I knew once I got a shower and ate a greasy breakfast followed by chugging as much water as I could and taking a few Tylenol, I would be okay.

I stared at my reflection in the vertical mirror on my bedroom wall, my hair hanging wet around my shoulders. It was obvious I had a rough night, but today was picture day for the yearbook, so I had to look my best. My jade green eyes stared back at me, empty and hollowed. I felt like just a shell, my real self somewhere lost in the sheets of my bed. She had been there for a few years.

Grabbing my makeup bag, I searched for my concealer and coral color corrector to mask the dark circles. A little trick I learned to get rid of bags was just a little dab of hemorrhoid gel and a little bit of coconut oil. It worked like a charm every time. Working at a beauty store had its perks.

Halsey began playing and the sound of my phone vibrating on my desk had me reaching over for my phone. It had to be one of the girls, probably Maya.

I glanced at the screen.

Maya.

"Hey." I answered with a flat tone.

"Well good morning!" She chirped. She was always such a morning person and I hated it.
