Oh Katie! Why now? Daddy is about to get it!
Standing up from the bed, I snatched my pajama bottoms on the floor and put it on.
"Well best friend, you will take the back seat for now, priorities." I mumbled to myself, looking at the tent on my pajamas.
I followed Maine in the twin's bedroom and found her cradling a crying Katie.
"Did she have a nightmare?" I asked, whispering so as not to wake Enzo.
Maine and Katie look up at me, Katie started whimpering, raising her arms up, asking to be held.
"Daddy." She mumbled.
"She's sick." Maine informs me as I take Katie from her. "Fever."
"I don't feew good daddy." She tells me,
"Oh princess." I hugged her tight and pressed her face on my cheek. She is warm. "What should we do?" I asked, whispering.
"I am going to put a cool soft gel sheet on her forehead. Just hold her and make her as comfortable as possible." She went to the twin's bathroom and soon I heard the water running. A few minutes later, I see her with a packet and damp washcloth.
"Here hon, if you can just use this on her nape and neck." She tells me, giving me the washcloth.
"What is that?" I asked pointing at the packet she's holding.
"It's a cool sheet. It's used on the forehead to help bring the temperature down, instead of using the washcloth on her forehead, and you know, we don't the have to dampen the washcloth constantly, this lasts for eight hours." She said, putting it on Katie's forehead
"Is it pwincess mommy?" My sweet daughter asked, I am sure she is trying really hard to be in good spirits.
"Yes, sweetie, it's Cinderella." She gave the packaging to Katie so she can see it, and that made my princess smile.
"I wike Cindewewa."
"I know sweetie. Mommy's going to take your temperature, okay?"
"Okay mommy." She mumbled.
I sat her on my lap, while Maine takes her temperature.
"Her temperature is 101." Maine tells me, showing me the screen of the ear thermoscan. Oh, that's in Farenheit! I was surprised that it was so happy high, being used to Celcius.
I am so proud Maine, she is really a very good mother. I didn't even know that she brought a thermometer since we are in Tagaytay right now.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" She asked.
"I am so proud of you. The twins and our little peanut there," I said lip pointing at her flat belly, "are so lucky to have a mother like you."
"I am really trying hard to do my best, hon, but now it is way much more easier because you are here to help me." She smiled and cupped my chin. Turning around, she placed the bottle of medicine she have on her hand on the nightstand and removed the measuring cup on top.
