            “Stop whispering,” snorts Rylee.

            “That’s just it, I’m not.”

Rylee wakes and scrambles out of the bed, Spencer follows suit.  They dress and they run out of the room to find Abby at the front door with Shadow.  “Who the hell is talking in my head?” snaps Abby.

“Island,” says Spencer.  She digs into her pocket and comes up with marbles.  She pegs it to the ground and the portal opens.  “Whoever is talking in our heads, well, at least we’ll have Nat to help sort it out.”

“It’s so funny to hear you talk about Natalie in a positive light,” smiles Rylee.  They step into the portal.  Shadow looks around, snorts, and steps through it too.

Tegan snaps awake in her bed at HIA, her dad had been in town but she hadn’t wanted to sleep in a hotel room.  So she’d come back to sleep in her own bed.  Now someone was whispering in one of the other beds.  It has to be Spencer because it’s in some weird language.

“Hey, shut up,” growls Tegan.  She rolls over and curls the pillow around her head.  She realizes the voice is closer than Spencer.  “Rylee, shut up.”

She sits up the pillow still around her head.  She lets it drop when she sees she’s alone.  Sydney hadn’t come home last night, but the whispering persists.  The buzzing gets louder and louder until she can hear them.  All of them.  Spencer, Rylee, Sydney, Abby’s voices are all in her head.

“Nat!” yells Sydney as she stumbles up towards Natalie’s quarters.  She can hear other students behind the doors.  Her mind is buzzing with the sounds of her friends voices.  She slams into Nat’s door and collapses to the floor, clutching her head.

The door whips open and Sydney tumbles into the room, rolling over onto her knees. “Nat, we’re connected.”

            At that, Sydney faints.

“How is this my fault?” asks Jo as she and Bev walk down the hallway with Jayden at their side.  Bev puts a comforting arm around Jo and kisses her cheek.
