*~*~*~*

As oldest son of the Alpha, Calum always had something to live up to. He had to be the perfect example of a pack-member, following every single rule and doing what was expected of him perfectly. He couldn't ever act out and wasn't even allowed to think of it. Very stressful, in other words, and definitely not fun.

It was bound to happen that Calum would go outside the lines some time, even if it would be only once. What nobody expected though, was for him to break one of the biggest rules. One of the rules that the whole pack had always valued and kept to strictly, which weren't a lot, but they were still important.

The one Calum broke, has quite the story with it. It started one winter night, when he was out running in his wolf-form. He was a black wolf, with glowing yellow-brown eyes and a big fluffy tail. He was pretty big for a wolf as well, but that was rather normal for werewolves. It was what distinguished the normal wolf from a werewolf in its wolf-form.

There was snow everywhere, making his paws feel slightly cold and making slight shivers ripple through him as he ran. He loved running in his wolf-form, feeling free and able to do just about anything. Of course he knew there was a world back home waiting on him and ready to tell him he could't do anything he liked, but that didn't stop him from enjoying this moment.

Calum didn't keep track of where he was going, soon finding himself wondering if he was still in a place he knew, before suddenly reaching the line of the forest. There was a field of white, for a few feet, before there was a fence, decorated with the fallen snow. Behind that there was more white, forming the garden of a lovely house further down.

While taking it in curiously, Calum moved closer, even while knowing humans and werewolves didn't go together. He was always warned for them. That they weren't to be trusted. That they would attack whenever you wouldn't expect it.

And even if Calum had always believed those kind of stories, he still found himself to be drawn to the idea of seeing humans. Were they really that different from him? Were the stories he had always been told really true? Should he even be here, this close to them?

Calum moved further, jogging through the snow as he moved to another house, to the right. It looked different from the first, even better he'd say. There was a large window to offer a view into the garden, from the dining room. Or what Calum figured was the dining room, considering their houses looked just like the ones his pack lived in.

Of course, Calum knew some basic things about humans, but not a lot. Mainly because his parents had always refused to talk about them and thus leaving Calum to ask the questions at others. Like Crazy Tom. Who loved to talk about humans and tell silly stories that made them seem okay, instead of bad. But that's why everyone called Tom crazy.
