There was a knock on your door followed closely by the excited barking of Sirius, your black Labrador, as he bolted for the door, his tail wagging madly as he jumped and whined, waiting for you to open it.

"You don't calm down I won't open it at all."  You said firmly, making him sit and whine as you laughed.

"Are you teasing that dog again?"  Came Charlie's voice from behind the door.

You opened it smiling.  "Only because he's over excited."

Sirius barged past you as you opened the door, whining and already trying to lick Charlie as she kneels down with a squeal.

"And how is my favourite puppy?"  She asked, not fighting against the labrador as he licked and whined and walked around her before dropping to the ground.

You laughed.  "Oh, I think he's just dine now."

Charlie looked up at you with a wide smile, her eyes twinkling.  "How's my favourite human?"

"Glad to see you unharmed."  You said warmly, returned her smile.

"Please, I'm just as tough as you and Sam and Dean."  She said, standing, leaving Sirius to look up at her, panting happily.

"Uh huh," You grinned.  "Still a techy nerd though."

Charlie scoffs.  "Says the one that named her dog after a Harry Potter character."

"That just makes me a geek darl."  You tease.  "Nothing more."

With a playful growl, she pulls you to her and kisses you deeply.

It was an odd thing the two of you had, very on again, off again, despite how much you cared for each other.

Both of you always told yourselves it was the life of a hunter, despite both of you being much happier if the other wasn't involved.

You'd met after walking up on Sam and Dean in the midst of a battle, or, a fake battle.

They'd asked you for help and you had said you'd try and get there as soon as you could, in the middle of your own case at the time, but had never expected to see anything like this.

You knew about Larping, but never thought you'd see Sam and Dean doing it.

With some amusement, once it looked like the battle was settling down, you let Sirius run.  Sirius always went straight for Dean and Dean just happened to be on the ground, making him curse as the black lab barrelled over him to start licking his face.

Sam was laughing almost instantly, Dean trying to fight Sirius off.  He eventually called Sirius over, Sirius being more than happy to do so, leaving Dean looking less than impressed on the ground.

You grinned at them.  "Looks like I missed all the fun."

Dean was wiping his face, smudging the battle paint with it.  He looked at you, trying to look annoyed, but the smile still came through.  "Hey Y/N, guess I should've called to let you know that we handled it."

You had shrugged.  "Sirius was in need of a run anyway."

"You named your dog Sirius?"

You had all looked at Charlie, who was frowning slightly, while still looking amused.

"He was an adorable, protective, fun loving, goofball."  You had said with a grin.  "There wasn't much else I could've called him."

Sirius barked and went over to her, sniffing arounds her feet, his tail wagging.

"Hey, no dogs on the field."  Someone called out.

Charlie snorts and kneels down, letting Sirius sniff her hand, his tail seeming to wag harder.  "And here I was thinking that it was just because you liked Harry Potter."

"That too."  You laughed.  "Sam and Dean never appreciate it, but I think they're just to embarrassed to show their geek side."

There were almost instant denials from Sam and Dean, but it had Charlie laughing.

"I don't know, they're done pretty well today."  She said.  "Dean even said almost the entire speech from Braveheart."

"It seemed appropriate."  Dean grumbled, shooting a glare at Sirius as he dashed back over to him.  Despite his look, he still knelt down and scratched his ears.  "Charlie, this is Y/N, Y/N, Charlie."  He then glared hard at you.  "And don't you dare offer to teach her."

You had just raised an eyebrow, but didn't miss the spark of interest in Charlie's eyes.

Dean catched it too.  "And don't you ask, you've been involved in enough of this."

"And who's fault is that?"  Charlie asked with a smirk.  "Besides, seems fair considering what happened today."

"No Charlie, this isn't a life you want."  Dean growled.  "Y/N hardly wants it either right?"

You hold Dean's pleading look.  "Sometimes, that's why I got Sirius, to help me cope, but I don't think I could really walk away if I tried."

Dean sighed as Charlie grinned.  "We're trying to keep her out of this Y/N, not encourage her."

You laughed.  "Please, you boys should knows it's infectious, it's only because of you two that I got in."

"I can handle myself."  Charlie spoke up.  "I think I've more than proven that too."

You had shrugged, still grinning.  "No promises."

Which was how all this started.  Away from Sam and Dean's eyes, you'd exchanged numbers and things had gone from training to what they were today.

"Watcha thinking about?"  Charlie asked.

You smiled down at her, her hair sprawled across your lap as you watched a movie.  "You."

Charlie returned your grin.  "You know, considering your lives, you hunters are all very sentimental."

"That's how I ended up with this goofball."  You chuckled, scratching Sirius's ears from his spot next to you on the couch.

"I suppose that's why we keep doing this too, huh?"  She asked softly.

You think about it for a moment, before smiling softly and leaning down to kiss her.  "Maybe, I guess, but I do enjoy your company for more reasons than sentimentality."  You kissed her again.  "Probably more than what most hunters recommend."

"Good thing we're not most hunter then, isn't it?"  Charlie went to pull you in for another kiss but Sirius took that moment to tip his head back with a whine and kiss you both.

You both pulled away with cried, having not expected it, Charlie falling on the floor.

You started laughing first.

"He certainly earned his name."  Charlie grumbles before joining your laughter.

Sirius watched both of you, his tail wagging the more you both laughed.
