One Smal Hope

53 3 2

The burnt orange sky,

The skeleton tree,

They seem to all be mocking me.

The heat of war,

the fear, the rage.

My soul is captured in a cage.

My tired eyes

Read letters from home.

I feel like I'll forever roam.

The barren fields.

No Man's Land.

The bodies pile, man on man.

Then in the field,

To my right.

Just within my line of sight.

One small flower,

seems to poke.

Proving that there IS some hope.

So I wrote this poem for Rememberance Day. Tell me what you think!
